Go shopping?

Postby Crosshair » Sun Oct 22, 2006 4:16 pm

The exchange rate is a bit... high, aint it? for the whole shopping thing on the points. seven points for a minute, whew...

Also, earlier when this was being formulated, i heard someone mention we could buy another charrie slot if we had enough points.... *angelic begging eyes*

Moved to rejected suggestions as it clearly states the exchange rate is subject to change

Edit : And it is a much better exchange rate than the one before where you couldn't trade any credits for minutes

Moved to general discussion as it's just not really a suggestion ;) ...

Yes, price is subject to change. Without some experience over time how this works out for the game, it's difficult to set a proper rate. I noticed that very few people put an effort in collecting minutes thus far. Now that there is an incentive, they might start doing so. This will affect the overall amount of minutes in the game, and we don't know yet what kind of effect this will have.

So, yes, the price is probably somewhat high, and should probably be lower, but I first want to have it run for a while and see how things go before I make that change. So it's on purpose ;) ...

And I'm implementing all this step-by-step. The fact that you can now buy minutes does not imply you cannot later on by an extra char slot.

I don't have any problem with the rate, I'm just glad we can finally use those credits at all! :D

It's not like most people are going to need extra minutes all that often anyway, but it's nice to know I've got about 45 of them now I can use in an emergency. :) (Though I'm really, really hoping not to many 'emergencies' doesn't pop up between now and Christmas...I'm barely going to have any time on the computer at all :()

I think I'm among the bottom-feeders in votes-ranking, but I can speak from experience when I say that extra minutes will definitely get a lot of people going.
It's happened plenty times to me that one of my chars was about to say or do something, and suddenly fell asleep (in other words, 0 minutes left).
Not certain how this will impact my playing, or if I'm even going to use it any time soon, but at some point in time, at least one char will be thanking whatever deity/deities/spirit/spirits that char prays to lol...

On another note, I've noticed one of the voting sites (forgot which one, but I'll check later today) keeps saying that I voted already, yet last week, about 30 minutes after clicking the link from Cantr, I ended up on that same site again from another game, and it didn't have any "voted already" issues that 2nd time.
If anyone else experiences the same thing, then maybe they know a bit more about it...

Edit:
Sweet Online Games is the one, that keeps saying I've already voted when I go there through the link on Cantr.
For other games, it doesn't do that... I'll try and find out what the difference is.

One quick question about votes.

Do you get 1 credit for every site you vote on?

Because yesterday I voted on every site listed in the voting area, and I only got 1 point for all of it. Just wondering how the points work?

The idea is one credit for one site, but 1) I only implemented it for just one of the sites so far (forgot which one) and 2) not all sites have something implemented to handle this smoothly.

Having voted diligently myself :) , I'd still like to resume the call for trading in those credits for things like bumper stickers and coffee mugs instead, as I'd like to show my support for the game aiding recruitment in other ways.

Yeah I guess we will just have to vote on all of them since you don't remember which one gives the point right?

It's the Ultimate Games Directory, if I recall correctly. One vote per hour per IP address; make sure you click from the link on your player page or you won't get the credit.
