I'd come back, if just to see what heroic songs and stories they made about my caracter.

A quarter of the hardcore players perhaps. I would expect the total fallout to be much higher then that. I myself would almost certainly quit if I lost all of my characters. After all, there would be nothing to loose by trying to reclaim my life :D

but If i had just one caracter live through the war... ooh the rollplay would be great.

with lines like this *shudders in a corner at the sight of blood*

and *starts breathing heavyere at the sight of a longsword, his eyes glazed over*

or if i had a femail surviver....*she looks at her hands, stairing in shock atthe sight of blood, then backs up to the wall, and stairs at her bloodsoaked hands*

ooh i cant WAIT!!! *goes to watch the screen intensly waiting for something to happen*

oh another thing about the fall-of is that just b/c I loose all my charies doent meen that everyone else would. most people would probably have enough survivors to not be driven away from the game no matter how collosal this theoretical conflict becomes... Unless PD gets drunk and gives us ICBMs... and then RD gets even more drunk and makes them very cheap and easy to make...
1000 aluminum
2000 rocket fuel(derived from oil or natural gas)?
100 plutonium

and poof, you have the power to level cities and render them uninhabitable

like Cantr isn't already peacful enough, imagine how little conventional warfare there would be with nuclear arsinals... ofcourse guns would still be far too hightech to make

The quarter you would lose would be the deadwood, the entropic, emotionally over-involved, resource hogging sleepers that hold the game back. I used to post that cantr-life is too cheap... and of course it was for new-spawns, I think that issues has been addressed to a significant extent. But cantr reflects real life in that as characters become more and more conservative as they have more and get older. I have 4 characters each one of them is in a place with an asy and abovious reason for conflict and exteded RP, but no it's seems its easier to sleep through it.

Man, how much would it suck if there were ICBM's in cantr

Your character ****** has died

Your character ******* has died

Your character ******* has died

Your character ******* has died

Your character ******* has died

Your character ******* has died

so you go and look at your emails to see just how this has happened and all you see is.

You eat 200g of potatoes

Woman says: "Nice day today ins't it?"

You see a small flying object in the distance. It moves over your head and out of sight. You see an large explosion far in the distance

Man says:"What the hell was that?"

Woman says:"Oh well, it wasn't anywhere near us"

You die of radiation poisening

Or

Something falls near you and you suddenly die

Or

Man says:"Gosh, that was close to us, it's a good thing it missed us though"

You suddenly get obliterated by the shockwave

;). An entire island destroyed just like that

I've lost about five characters to war over the course of the time i've been playing. Only one was actually killed in combat, i think. I would come back, definitely...

I would come back, of course. But this time, I wouldn't create 15 characters... I'd be frustrated like crazy though.

I've never had a character die from combat(I'm really good at getting out of bad situations  ) though ever killing another character, that's another story

I've died from hunger(first couple characters), and from getting hit a couple times by someon, then dying by a wild boar(vengeance!)

I've lost.. about 100 characters, no joke- that's pretty much an exact figure by now, and I'm still going! :P

Ouch!

I've lost.... I think about 15, and that is being quite careful with all of them. However only perhaps 4 of them were killed by people and two or three by animals, the rest I merely killed off because I was bored of them

I wouldn't come back, at least not for a long time. It would be different if only a few died, either by mischance or being in combat, but if they all did? Fifteen chars is a lot to lose in one war, especially if I'd only have maybe 2-5 actually participate in the war. It would be too much all at once for me to even be remotely interested in a new char. I might eventually come back after such a thing, but it would be hard. I guess I take my chars more to heart than some people; seeing things an old char used to know through a new char's eyes is not easy if the old char is gone and was a favorite. At least it's not for me.

hehe, yeah one of them is because of your character's actions!
