Don't worry, eventually the english are going to arrive on that island and spread our culture... in the form of crossbows and claymores.

Only if Cantr gets a good war system going...once it does we should see some nice feudal Europe style politics, with might making right. Out of this Dark Age, a Rennaissance may form...or maybe not.

Just think how many more newspawns we'd retain if there were military recruiters in all the towns, calling them to sign up for their hometowns army! I'm sure the army would be the newspawnishness out of them eventually ("im tiREd of MaRChiNg AroUnD!!! i WanT to pwn soMeOne!" *A few minutes with a claymore later* "I changed my mind: marching is fun.")

No, it's a false premise. irl war stimulates progress via invention. There is no invention in Cantr, thus war just wastes resources and decreases the already pitifully low population. If you want a medieval war game, try 1000ad.

It also stimluates progress via stimulating industry, not just invention. Introducing competion stimulates compedativness in general really.

Also invention isn't just about building a better stick to hit the enemy with. It is also about building a better way of doing things. I may not be able to invent a gun, but I may be able to invent a better form of government.

Anyway it isn't a waste of resources if it produced OOC fun. :)

Seriously, why is it all the wars happen with other languages!

I want an english war, but we have no split islands and all of our towns seem to think that invasion is evil and you can't do that. (Well, other than one little scuffle between two towns that may be about to come with one of my characters) But the fact remains, there are no -real- english wars. Could you -please- make a new english spawnpoint somewhere on another languages island?

I thought it would be enough to have two English characters on that island. So take a ship and sail there. Or am I not up to date concerning game mechanics?

Besides which an english spawnpoint in amongst foreigners could be very shortlived.... genocide of three characters might not be that much fun...

thus the proper way to get out there is filling up a gallion or two of conquestadors and drop off with a ready made millitary power.

It would be almost as much fun as playing the foriegner who gets to see a couple gallons docking to thier harbor with names in a language they dont recognize... Hey looks foriegners! I bet they're here to trade exotic resources :D *next day*... I dont know what "slave" means, but I dont think they're here to trade anymore.

Really? That's awesome. :D

So these Turks can dish it out but they can't take it? I know it sucks to lose players, but honestly, do you want a bunch of that type around?

No, actually people got upset due to foul play involved.
