Ignoreing the fact that it's completely improbable for a war on a scale big enough to cause this..
Would the RP value of the final moments be enough to keep you going, or would the loss of so much effort drive you away from Cantr?

Honestly, my characters lives mean exactly as much to me as they do to the characters themselves... if they feel it's worth going to die for their fellow Cantrians, than I feel the same way... so my bloodthirsty and my heroic characters I'd be happy for, my peacable ones... I'd be a bit upset about... all in all though, it would be such an interesting event that I'd stay on.

If all of my characters where to die in a massvie CW, Cantr War, then I would create a new one and start him off during the war. It would be interesting points of view on war and the politics of war. Heck, I'd probally commit a few characters effected by the war to being a part of it. While I love playing my characters, death of one only means with a) I screwed up or b) I was having a fun time.
hey, maybe one of my char's could be a general... hmmm... lots of RP possibilities in a war.

I must say it really depends on the circumstances.
I have a few peaceful characters, and sure if someone is farming and an army enters his town and kills him just for being there, id be pissed, but if my guy is killed in battle I'd be fine with it, because I'd be doing the same thing to the other people.
Though personally, I'd rather be taken as a POW than killed, so that I can survive the war.

I think I would. If it really could happen that all my characters all over the world die in a war, I must assume that there are not much survivors at all. It would be fun for the next generation to start with zero and build a new civilization out of the ruins (I hope we'll have ruins until then). I mostly encountered well developed communities when I spawned, it would be interesting to see a new one develop (I joined the game to late I think

How many charies you have? I only started this summer and I have a few earlly civilisation ones. Three of my seven are already town co-leaders or otherwise high in the social ladder because they spawned in frontierish places that for whatever reason were poorly developed... guess they were just to boring b/c now two of those places have doubled or trippled in size since I got there and stired things up
As to the question, I would jump strait in. I love under developed places or places in a state of economic regress... I would miss my old charies, and probaly be pissed about a few of them dieing that I know would never engage in the war willingly, but I would not quit. Most of my charies would be fun to see going off to war and dieing herocily (or not heroicly

I could get so upset to give up only if I'm convinced that the death of my chars was due to a unfair behaviour of other players (players, not chars). In that case, my will to get vengeance and bring "justice" would be strong enough to make me breack the CR. And thus, I would have to erase my account.
Then, it's obvious I woudn't quit, PD does a good job and so unfair situations don't occur.
