I'm old

Postby 1959 Apache » Sat Jan 03, 2004 1:44 am

Thanks to reading this topic, I really feel old at 44. I graduated high school before most of you were born. In fact, I was born in the '50s! The age of big fins on cars, crew cuts, Elvis....
I was 11 when Woodstock (the real one in '69) happened.
I was less than a year away from being drafted into the Viet Nam war!
I owned 'Disco Sucks' t-shirts when they came out.
Born in Brooklyn NYC, married in '91, divorced in '93 (don't ask)
Been a Construction Electrician in NYC for almost 25 years, now. Was working in the Trade Center just 3 months before the attack. I have worked in all of the big buildings in New York.
Played hockey til I blew out both knees and back.
Have been working as a pit crew member in a traveling Stock Car series, the Hooters ProCup.
I have 1 older brother
Still don't know what I will do when I grow up. I just hope that never happens.
Have 4 cars, that '59 Chevy 4x4 pickup to the left, a '62 Chevy Bel Air, '65 Buick Special, and an '89 Chevy Blazer that is just about dead.
go NY Giants
go NJ Devils
baseball is boring and golf is slow hockey with no defense

I can go on and on about being a musician, broadcasting training, cross country adventures...I am very diverse. I guess that's why Cantr is fun. I have a vast supply of experiences to draw on to use in character. I just hope that the character that is having sex with one of mine is not a minor. That would be wrong!
If you drive an old Chevy, you're all right by me!

My parents missed Woodstock due to them expecting me shortly after.

Hey, don't feel bad--my dad was born in the '40's and my mom in the very early '50's. Yup....old parents.

I live in the Maryland/D.C. area and am a Skins fan. The team needs work of course, but why do teams hire a coach that was just fired by another team?

I just heard the owner was talking to Fossil about hiring him in Washington. Giants fired him, so why not bring him here! Always a mystery to me.

Maybe New York coudl hire Spurrier... an even swap.

Giants are my football team too but man they really sucked this year. Most of their key players were injured though.

Use to be a Devils fan back when I liked hockey. In fact their minor league team is based in Albany (The Albany River Rats) so we see a lot of the future stars for the Devils before they go to the majors. But in the past few years the River Rats have been really bad so I wouldn't expect much from the Devils in the coming years.

Oh, and I am going for a two year degree in Broadcast Communications. I'm not sure if I'm going to go for a four year degree yet but I still have a little bit to decide. Right now I'm thinking about getting a full time job working for a television studio and go to night school after I get my two year degree.
