It shows that god has compation. God believes in justice, sodom diserved justice, but god showd compation, not that he was falliable.
If "God" has compassion, then why didn't he save the Jewish from the Egyptians and Nazis, if god had compassion, then why did he kill and made suffering towards the Egyptians?
The ways of god are beyond the thoughts of man, and who are we(the created) to question God(the creator)?
But I will give you some reasons that might make some sense.
First of all: The Egyptians held God's people in captivity and would not head the word of the Lord which he spoke thru Moses. So God began to send plagues to make them change their mind. After each plague Moses would go before Pharaoh and give him a chance to repent and let the Israelites go, but Pharoah would never do it till after the 10th plague(the death of his oldest son). So God was not unfair or uncompassionate. He was haing compassion on the israelites by freeing them and that is what had to be done to do that. If God had not done that and left the Israelites there then you would have asked why did God not save the Israelited from egypt if he was compassionate?
Secondly: You asked why God did not save the Jewish from the Nazis? Well they are still here in the wrld so appearantly he DID save them.
