Your god is a he, Dee. Mine is beyond gender disticntions. So for me it`s an "it".
Um... Mykey who exactly is your god?
I think I touched on that a page back, best to not ask questions you do not really want answers to...
I do want the answer.

I think, it is most important for those like me, to have something to believe in. I myself have chosen "thought" for the object of my worship. No not worship. That is mostly a Judeo/Christian concept. I mean meditation. Yes that is better.
Meditation.... Anyways, between deep philosophical reflection, and various chemicals to alter the experience. And just general questioning of reality. I have concluded, purpose must exist, or I do not. It is really that simple to me. "God" if pursued, will provide what is necessary for my growth spiritually. I see "God" as the primordial thought, that ignited all of creation, and permeates throughout it. It is not human, except possibly on the level of thought. It does not make children, It shows the way, but does not force. There is only one destination, and all roads may be taken. It does not coerce, it does not lie, It does not demand first-born. It only smiles happily, when it is recognized. It wants something but it does not make what it wants clear. Anyways enough about my trips, and mental wanderings, point is. Many of us need something to latch on to.

God is, if the bible is correct, omnipotient, meaning he can do anything, including raise the dead, but that does not automaticly make him right. Just like in you analogy of a wieghtlifter, yes God working out in his nice gym can make us look like a bunch of pansies here on Earth, but all that power does not make him suddenly un-able to be wrong. There are even bible stories of God realizing he is wrong and changing his mind. He originally decreed that he would wipe out Sodom and Gramora with everyone in them when Abraham objected on the behalf of the inocent people who lived there (Lot and his familly if I remeber right). God changed his mind and sent an angel to save his familly first. EI: even in all his power, God can be wrong.
As for your responce to Mykey about him finding a differnet church, he has, in a since. It just to happens to be one composed of just himself.
Ok. hmm. now this, is a tuffy. SHow me the versis in the bible first, pleas.
and all roads may be taken
Nope. Only through crist.
Medetation... *shrugs* if it gets you closer to crist. But may I suggest some worship to? Perhaps if you read some of the bible also?(My opinion)
I personally find it better to go to church, than to do it alone, If it is a good chruch.
Now about this god is a he or she... that's just kinda childish isn't it? I think we can debait on something more important than gender, right?

You may think of it as childish, but it isn't... I mean.. Come on!! Refer to God as an It? Are you kidding? That's like, the most offensive thing ever!
God is a He, and not because of some poor translations... God's a He, because He is!
And what do you mean what I think of the creation of the world?
You're not asking me whether I believe of the whole big bang theory or not, are you? If that's your question, then my answer is no.

What is BS?
And it isn't because a lack of a descriptive tool in our language... You think God couldn't include a word of His own description in His language? That's like so contradicting... And weird..
Oh, BS: Bull Shit..
Well, whatever.. You're not going to be convinced with whatever I say, so that's why I quit this topic a million years ago.

Biological sex is not the same as gender
God is generally considered to be a paternal (father), rather than maternal figure -God did not 'give birth' but rather 'created' - and manual creation is traditionally a masculine role, God does not mother humans, but rather teaches, and reprimands as need be. Hence a masculine gender is more fitting to this image.
This does not mean that it should not be possible to re-imagine God as a feminine, or neuter figure. As such, whether God is male or female or toher is down to personal preference.
Considering that there's no such things as God anyway, arguing about gender is a bit pointless...

Hmmm... It was tempting to say something...
Mykey, In christianity God doesnt have to reproduce to produce people. He got the first man (not baby) from the dust to make Adam. He didnt what him to be alone. Then took a rib to make Eve. Nobody will ever know what the will be coming, not I, not you or anyone. Only in what we have read in the bible or other religion beliefs suggests. Maybe there was a big bang. Only time will tell. I dont think God gave 100% of his thoughts and languages to people on earth. I have always pondered on one worded question, 'dinosaurs'? I dont think anyone here or anywhere would have the answer. It is a mystery only God or whoever put the bang on earth knows.
