Until this is changed, then we might as well all get anal about exact 'costs' in time, rather than a dedicated few being able to work it out precisely.
In all honesty, these values are not actually precise nor uniform because they fail to factor in transport time, current supply, and current demand. If these were actually factored in to the average trade deal, we would see the same level economic variety that gather rate variation would provide.
But since the average player doesn't have the proper time/patience/ability ratio to perform this level of analysis, we are stuck with the current klugey state of affairs.
