 I love computer jokes, and I just assumed platonium was ment to be a joke as well based on context, ohwell dont matter if it wasnt.

I have two characters that sort of fit the bill, one of them really likes someone who also likes him, but he has certain opinions that get to be problematic, can't really say how that's gonna work out long term.

I also have another character who is a bit relationship paranoid, but he's also a really nice guy who has someone very actively pursueing him, so again, b/c he doesn't want to hurt her feelings there's potiential that he could open up in time, but I see that one also maybe ending up badly.

FREE HUGS FOR EVERYONE!!! okay it's 2:00am I need to unplug my computer before I start wondering if I can go 4 consecutive nights with less than 5 hours sleep. Cantr is a good way to develop ensomnia.

Slightly off topic but I do like this so its partiallly on topic ...

A lesson in philosophy wrote:
Keep this philosophy in mind the next time you either hear or are about to
repeat a rumor.

In ancient Greece (469 - 399 BC), Socrates was widely known and lauded for
his wisdom. One day the great philosopher came upon an acquaintance that ran
up to him excitedly and said, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about
one of your students?"

"Wait a moment," Socrates replied. "Before you tell me I'd like you to pass
a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."

"Triple filter?"

"That's right," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my student,
let's take a moment to filter what you're going to say. The first filter is
Truth.

Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"

"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and "... "All right,"
said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not.

Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are
about to tell me about my student something good?" "No, on the contrary..."

"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, even
though you're not certain it's true?" The man shrugged, a little
embarrassed.

Socrates continued. "You may still pass the test though, because there is a
third filter - the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about
my student going to be useful to me?"

"No, not really..."

"Well," concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither True nor
Good nor even Useful, why tell it to me at all?"

Deferring to the awesome wisdom of the sage, the man, defeated and ashamed,
said nothing and walked away quietly.

This is the reason Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high
esteem.

It also explains why he never found out that Plato was banging his wife.

Subject: Thermodynamics

Thermodynamics: The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well.

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following:

"First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.
This gives two possibilities:

1) If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2) If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over... So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "...it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you," and take into account the fact that I still have not succeeded in having an affair with her, then #2 above cannot be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and will not freeze over."

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY "A."

no one you say? ... I like my screen rez. 8)

Also, I would have personally gave that guy a "C". One letter grade off for assumeing that Hell is able to break, and the other for assuming souls have mass. A "D" if I wanted to get picky about his assumptions that Hell and souls exist, His assumption that the difference in the expansion of Hell versus addition of souls is great enough for it's temperature to decrease at an adiquate rate to become cold(also problematic as a result of the relitive nature of the word "cold") in the time that Teresa turned him down to present, or the accuracy of his estimation that all souls go to Hell based on conflicting sources.

The proper answer is "not enough data provided"
