Nice ideas but too powerful, i mean you could consider implementing the hangglider and trebuchet if it came with a risk of failure when used. Something like half a chance you'll be hurt plus the vehicle is damaged or wrecked, and a 5 or even 10% chance you get killed. That's with aluminium hanggliders, a wooden one is worse.

A palanquin

A closed litter carried by four bearers.

In Cantr it's a bit hard to find four bearers, so just two should do, but having more would make it move faster. The litter part would be separated from the bearers' part like a sidecar is separate from a motorcycle. The speed would be defined by the slowest bearer, being less than 100% due to the load but getting closer to it the more carriers there are. It would be cool if carriers would gain tiredness and would have to stop to rest on longer journeys.

Chinese Junk (type of ship)

Resources:
Wood, lot's of it
Iron, very little
Bamboo (non-existant in Cantr)

Bamboo could also lead to the creation of new weapons. For example, bamboo bows, bo-staff, blowgun, etc. Bamboo is very strong, so these weapons wouldn't rot as quickly as wooden weapons.

A junk is a kind of Chinese Galleon. They are thought of as the most effecient sea vessels of ancient times. The bamboo sails and flat design of the ship allow it to move quickly and easily. The sails were stronger, and the ships were faster. These would be the ultimate merchant ships. Of course, due to their size, the amount of wood would be even greater than that of the galleon. These ships also had many compartments, or rooms.

The implementation of this ship along with resource could introduce an entirely new type of culture.

What do you think?

What about lower-tech vehicles: horse (or other animal)-drawn wagons, for example? I know that also raises the specter of animal training/husbandry, which could be a lot of work for what seem to be middle-class vehicles and abilities.

I would like to have some new-age boats. Something made from aluminium for example. Expensive, small and very fast.

I would like to have boats with sails...

We could take some of the already implemented boats, those that have sails in RL, and add to them the requirement for cloth.

Ejample:
"Sail Sloop": Same reources as longboat plus 400 g of silk cloth, 500 g. of cotton cloth or 600 gr. of hemp cloth. Same attributes as sloop but twice speed.

I imagine that, maybe, the current boats are intended to have sails (or they couldn´t move on the sea), but some of them are oar or paddle ships (that, by the way, should require people working on the oars)

And a yellow submarine...

I definetly think that we should have air traffic implemented into Cantr. It would add a whole new aspect to the game, and you could start airline companies where people pay you to fly them overseas ect... We could have some vehicles like the ones below and more.

Hand-Gliders
Blimps
Planes
Jets
ect...
Every action has a consequence.

... and

landing strips
more motors
FUEL for the motors
a pilot skill
the chance to have a plane crash (everybody is dead!)
more FUEL...

No, I think there is plenty of things to do before airplanes:

To tame horses, sheeps, goats and cows.
To use tamed horses in motorless vehicles.
FUEL...

Elros, you could set up an insurance company meanwhile.
You know, "Pay me 50 gr iron monthly and I will compensate your family if you die..."

RD has discussed faster (sailed or more likely motorized) ships. Air travel has been accepted for a long time, it is just a matter of ProgD getting the code setup. Fuel is also accepted and is in the works.

My honest prediction of possible implementation:

fuel
motorboats
air travel

This makes realistic (in a technological development way) sense as well as being a logical way to work it into the game technically.

Well it looks like my "GOOD" idea has been accepted already.

I like these ideas but I see no reason to add bamboo, just use reed, that's basicly all bamboo is. And I would deffinatly like to see some eastern sytle weapons come into play :D Yumi and kama sticks could deffinatly fit the bill for reed(bamboo) weaponry. I still despreatly want to see the day when steel weapons get broken up into tech-level with your most complicated to make but powerful, lightwieght Katanas and Wakisaki at the top needing some kind of steel folding machine and maybe a steel carbonizer. Reed instead of leather for the hilts maybe? Don't forget the Persians used wicker(woven reed) shields. They should be really low-tech like bone, but maybe lighter.

Reed = Bamboo is how I personally handle it in game, and reed needs more quality uses in game. :) A reed boat might be cool, though of limited use. Lakes unfortunately do not live up to their true potential in game.
