I apologise, but, in my opinion, you commit an error. Let's discuss it. Write to me in PM.

I quite like the idea, it's almost like a version of cantr, the whole of cantr, recreating a large city (or an island like lost)..,

Yeah the Tower of Babel soultion...

Mykey you need to get on your knees and pray to Jos!

I agree that the current map is too large, but I doubt that this is a major factor in the quality of the game.

I wouldn't mind to have a second Cantr 'planet'. Much smaller than the current one, maybe based on part of the current map. Start empty, just resources and people.
This would mean a good change of pace for the players that joined Cantr when most of the current cities were already formed. It wouldn't hurt to be able to build something from scratch, without having neighbours that have seen that, been there and done that.

Players can choose where they want to spawn: Cantr or Cantrlet.
I sure would like to play 2 or 3 characters in this alternative world.
It would be a good experiment to see if a much smaller world really is that much better.

I have actually said before that I think a chunk of the inactivity is related to the spreading of characters over more space. I have actually been reluctant to push implementing faster ships because of this.

There is a chance, though, that motorboats dropping the transit time between islands could help shrink the world back down if you think about it. I think as more and more cars are appearing, there is a feeling that interlocation trade has been seeing a subtle increase, at least near my characters.

I don't think we need a massive and mystical relocation, though. I think the main reason the liveliness of the old cities is mostly a changing of the guard. Tircqi is a ghost town, but we have umpteen posts about Dory lately. It all moves about and the fuddy duddies give in to "back in the good old days....". It might also be "boring" now for the old roleplayers because the newness has worn off. That, coupled with the increasing amount of jackassery from the fresh batches of sub-seventy IQ recruits, does make a well played character a precious gem...

And don't forget the planned introduction of air travel.

How far away is that? :) Will we have airplanes before we can tame animals?

Probably before  ... it's a lot easier to implement - but not until vehicle fuel is there , along with some infrastructure

You have hit the mark. It seems to me it is very good thought. Completely with you I will agree.

I'm voting yes. In connection to my post in http://www.cantr.net/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 7&start=15 this could be really interesting.

I didn't read all the comments but I voted no anyway because I'm generally against ideas that would change most things that has been built (like political structure) within the game. Although that idea about creating a second cantr world doesn't sound too bad.
