Promoting CANTR

Postby The Hunter » Mon Aug 18, 2003 1:40 pm

New here as I am I think a few more players would be nice. I've started bij adding a Link in my sig on another forum. (the one i was "recruited" by jos.

I'm kinda looking around for other Fora etc. to bring the good news.

I was wondering if the other players do something simular to "promote" Cantr and how.

Sometimes I go to distrbuted.net and send e-mails to the other team leaders to join the Cantr Fan team and try Cantr.

This is very good to hear! :) ... I am also trying to find more forums, in different languages, where I can friendly advertise the game. Only one threw me off so far saying that I was spamming ;) ... Unavoidable, I guess. I do it in a friendly manner, and on sites where they really seem to discuss different games. If anyone sees a nice forum to advertise, please tell me, or if you are indeed a common user of the forum, do mention the game so once in a while ;) ... I also have another advertisement idea in mind, which I will soon put online.

If everybody visits Fora at random in might be a good Idea to publish a list of fora already visited. Just to prevent fora visited regularly by multiple... ehm... "Cantrers"? Cantars? Help me here!!!

We'd be banned in no time... :(

I'm curious. TELL ME TELL ME!!! Plzzzzzz?

I noticed the post about the "posters" on the front page of the characters listed in announcements.

I don't go out much myself (obviously) but i can think of some places myself and hubby could put them up. :)

I was also thinking....that maybe business cards would be nice. I don't know how much they cost, or how many people look at a business card and actually decide they'd like to check out whatever is on it.
But it might be an idea to take business cards to an internet cafe and have them there for people to take one.
Just something simple- could probably even print them up on your comp yourself. If someone were sneaky enough they could be put inside of computer rooms on campus' etc. lol

I kinda think that business cards would be more effective than just posters. If people are anything like me, i have a hard time remembering things like numbers and websites that I see on tv/on posters out and about then going back to my computer I'm like..."Now what was that address again?" If it were business card format people could take it with them....and actually "remember" the site to go to.

If someone could come up with something official, I'd be glad to give cards to anyone i saw came across that liked gaming. And If i were near by a cafe I'd distrubute them also.

Of course it is ultimately up to you all? *Shrugs* Just an idea...:)

I got a look at the poster.

This is hard to explain but you'll know what I'm talking about if you've seen it.

Write www.cantr.com sideways several times along the bottom.
Then the person who print and puts up the poster would cut between all the www.cantr.com.
That creates a sort of series of tags along the bottom.
People can rip off the tags so they don't forget to try it and remember the address and most importantly leave the poster up.

What about changing the top of the poster to say in large type

"Hundreds of men and women in their twenties from places you never heard of are waiting to meet you!"

where the "Play...in Cantr II!" is now.

A tacky suggestion from someone who is over spammed.

tho it would probably work better if it said www.cantr.net, :D

or is cantr 2.0 gonna be a dot com?
I'm serious about the vistaprint business cards, though.
