I like the gender question - I'll think some up alongside the ones here.

But Agar has my favourite of the lot here:

A simple one. Maybe it's been done before. How many players have characters who actually spoke today...at all? Best to take a Tuesday and Thursday and average them, not weekends. This is because I don't actually believe the stats on player numbers. Can't reconcile them with my studies of game activity.

I apologise, but, in my opinion, you are mistaken. Let's discuss. Write to me in PM, we will talk.

In the webzine: http://www.cantr.net/e107

The first issue had a breakdown of characters by age.

I've made the point before in my stats that 'player numbers' is a useless indication of active players.

Inactive accounts get cancelled eventually, and the vast majority of inactive accounts are recent subscribers. A breakdown of characters by age shows a HUGE amount of characters aged under 25. Most of these characters have probably never spoken, or done much. Not only does this make the 'player total' bogus - as many of those accounts are inactive, it also heavily skews many statistics.

Most of the stats I use have been, by the ProgD, limited only to include accounts which have been active in the past few days - thus removing all the inactive accounts from stats shown. ProgD can probably answer you better, but from what I remember, about 2/3 of the toal accounts are 'recently active'.

I'll cover some older ones, wichita, do you have any particular requests?

Someone asked in the forum about player ages. This information should be easily obtainable as d.o.b is asked for during sign-up.

Ok,
I have a list of my own which I am about to wing to ProgD, and I will comb this for any I have missed. But to add some more meat to the next issue - are there any more suggestions out there?

How about:

-how many words an average character speaks a day?
-how many characters an average player types a day?
-how many times an average day a certain word is spoken (Cantr, Jos, hi, ect.)?
-how many times an average day an out-of-character statement is spoken?
-how many times an average character checks the character description of any character a day?

Would be good to have these statistics divided by countries, so we would know how differentely people play Cantr in different parts of the world. I am sure there are diffrences.

I would like to have:

number of populated locations, by nation
number of cities (e.g. 10+ buildings)

Basically, the whole demographics :)

Nations would be impossible, too biased, dynamic and indistinguishable.

By town or inhabited continent would be more tangible.

Requested stat: TOTAL amount of inhabited, explored (prev. inhabited), and unexplored towns; TOTAL amount of inhabited, explored and unexplored continents/islands. Average, mode, most & minimum (1) amount of towns per continent.

I'll ask, but, I think that something which gives an idea of the, (mostly yet unkown), scale of the Cantr world might lead the in-game discovery to be anticlimatic...

I like Agar's suggestion about vehicle types. Just going from my own chars I'm betting tandem bikes are the most common. (of course wooden carts might have caught up with them by now...)

Also, how many boats have cabins or cargo holds now?

EDIT: Okay I just read the statistics in the last issue, and I have to know, the 600 grams of crocodile leather is just specificly the leather, right? It doesn't mean the hide?

Either way I think one of my chars could have owned a priceless resource fora couple of years now without me even knowing it, unless the hide itself is actually a lot more common...

Bumptiy.

I hope to do something, even short, this time round.

Post ideas here. What you would like to see. I'll pick 2/3/4 of the favourites for the next issue.
