Did anyone ever suggested a tool like the "measuring wheel" or "Trundle Wheel"
It's a quite simple tool with a wheel on a stick that ticks on every rotation.
than
distance = Circumference * tick-count
Distance measure wheel

A great suggestion but begs the question why would a trundle wheel in Baaak have the same diameter as one made in Blojt?
That said all cantrians seem to make stone hammers of exactly the same size and weight, as an example, so I guess it could be standardised...
P.S. is there a sun in cantr?
Like Phalynx but new and improved!

purposes for free-roam usagee
I think that the concept of a tool by which one could derive a general concept of location would be very effective. Not only would it make sailing easier, but it will greatly ease the hopeful transition off the road system and into the free-roam system of traveling that has been discussed for a long time.
Kick, Punch, its all in the time.!
