Doesn't need to be that much of a waste of time... something like that would just add to the tedium, not the fun factor.

Cantr specific animals you say? :D
That WOULD make nameing them worth while. (it is a medium sized animal that moves about on a crawling mass of tenticals while observing it's surroundings with it's three independantly moving eyestalks.)... I'll call it a... Squilich!
Maybe "natural animals" should be prenamed to avoid tedium: things like gorillas and cows, but then throw in some "exotic animals" like a squilich.

That is absolutely not what i meant :) Cantr isn't a fantasy game after all.

We know cantr developed differently from Earth, shorter days, cars before gunpowder, so why not have alternate things evolve? What reason is there to only use real world creatures?

The full Cantr map has already been created. There are no plans to add any further animals.
