I'd personally like to see armour as a clothing item, you figure if someone is willing to spend 1000+ leather or silk that could have otherwise been used for making much more practical weapon hilts , bellows, or bowstrings just to look cool, why not throw on a 1000 gram suit of steel plate mail or a 500 gram golden curass, strap on the iron shield pick-up a longsword and let everyone around you know that your a town guard or centurian or what have you.
Furthermore, I think that shields do need to be made equipable, and this is my reason for it: A few weeks ago my character and a few others were involved in a recreational fist fighting compition and we had to stash our shields in order to actually hurt eachother. One of the combatants didn't have anywhere to put his so he left it on the ground and a new spawn ran off with his iron shield. There should be no reason someone can't just chose not to use it without having to drop it.
Another note on the armour as protection, if it is emplimentaed as such, it should be weaker than a shield and not stack, but always work, (ie: iron shield blocks 27, if my memoery serves me, platemail would blocks 16 [best armour should not exceed weakest shield]. If I have both, the shield is used to block at 27. If the attacker bypasses my shield I still get the 16 damage reduction) In this way it would be considerably less useful per cost than shields leaving people with good shields still well off, but giving those few with access to good armour a small advantage. In this case it would be a new object class meaning a bit of work on the Programmers, but I think it would make a lot of players very happy while leaving very few upset. Also, if an armour slot could take the place of a clothing, ie: making armour clothing with a pointer set to armour, that would be great. Also if I where wairing both a tourtise shell hard-hat (AC:5), and a chainmail curass (AC:11), it would funtion like a shield and take the greater of the two values, the AC:11.

NO!!!
becaus all the clothing you have on should be stacibal.
sheilds and armor are not stacibal.
so armer is stacibal with armer.
sheilds are by themselves.

On the one hand I agree with you that armor "should" stack, but it wouldn't be practical in game because there are so many clothing slots availible that if AC was provided by body armor, it would have to be so minimalistic that it would be hard to get it balinced for gameplay. As before mentioned in order for body armor to not disturd the way the game already works too greatly it should not total more than a minimal shield, If it stacks then the values would have to be decreased per armor piece, so to get to a theoretcial max 15-16ish off of steal platemail, greaves, bracers, full helm, etc. your looking at a senerio where the best peice of armor in the game couldn't give more than a +5 which would seem pretty broken if you ask me.
Another way of doing it is if the game engen were to randomly decide where a hit lands (ie: 30% chance to hit torso, 10% head, so on so forth), in which a helm might then have the same AC as a breastpiece, but in this way a specific piece of armor blocking a hit would become pretty uncomon in which case it might be okay if it were to stack with a shield. It would also allow for critical multipliers for head, neck shots etc. This system I think would be awesome, but that's a lot more work to ask of the programmers and probably wouldn't get implemented.

It's quite possible this has been suggested before, but it goes with the wish of knocking down buildings.
How about being able to build a Trebuchet?
It could be used for building demolition and as town protection to attack vehicles on the road or ships near to dock at sea. So if a pirate crew attacks your town then leaves on a boat/vehicle, you can still get them back before they get too far away.
And if it were used for building demolition then a percentage of the material used in the building can be reclaimed.
Building:
9000g of wood
2000g of iron
3000g of stone (for the counterweight)
1000g of rope
A crew of 6-10 people (depending on strength) to participate in the project to operate it.
And 500g of stone for each missile

Just a quote to your idea, vehicles should be made visible on a section of the roads near locations before thinking of attacking them.

trebuchet/catapults have been suggested before and even recieved some thought in RD discussion in the past. Not happening any time soon, I am afraid.
And vehicle visibility would be cool to compliment boat visibility.
