Fences for animals

Postby Lone Wolf » Sat Jan 17, 2004 12:21 pm

I was thinking that if we could build fences to herd animals in or build coups for Turkeys, so that one can raise animals for food. This would be really good if animals could have babies and multiply. The fences could even be broken by animals and they could escape, however if a character could check on the fence, which would take time, they could avoid it. If there seems to be a board loose they would need to fix it. There could also be different kinds of fences, from you basic interlocking wood fence which you would need a shovel to dig post holes, to a strong fence where someone would need to make nails out of copper, nickle or steel. They would need a hammer and a shovel to build it. A new tool could even be a post hole digger.
Well, this was just a thought.

This would probably require animals to be individual beings, as was proposed in some other topic. Then people could drag animals to the coops or corrals. Should there be locks for these? For that matter, would people be entering them (like buildings), or would they be pulling animals out of them?

That would be so very cool to see happen, expanding that it would be good to be able to actually plant...plants and then have certain animals eat them if they wern't coralled, further expanding this you could have people carrying seeds for plants and planting them in places that they wern't there before but I have a feeling that would be pretty difficult to handle and would take out the fun.

Well it'd look pretty wierd if there was 'John's Fence' (Wooden Fence) so what about a new type of building. The Barn!

or have corral's and coup's built and used like a normal building just allowing us to drag animals into them and drop food in them to encourage animal breeding. and how about wild animal's eating any food left on the ground ? and town's with much food left laying around attract animal's or possibly putting rat's into the game ?
