That sucks that they kicked you out. Suppose there's not much can be done about it now though.

But what I mean is that through the Player's Departement, you had connections through which you could cheat, whereas myself and most near everyone else does not. Sure, some people have friends in the departements, but then many more do not, at least not friends that will help them cheat. Also, there are a great number of players that have played more than a year and don't frequent the forums, and so therefore are entirely unknown to anyone who could help them out.


I know personally that I am not universally liked among the staff, or by anyone in it in perticular, at least that is to say, I doubt anyone would help me cheat, either through not wanting to cheat for the sake of being fair or otherwise.

Bran's got a point about nearly every institution in this game coming about through CRBing.

Lad Empire, Smoke Jaguars (IIRC), Mac Gregors, even the Nossé (my view of the CR was, shall we say, optimistic at the time). But ever notice how they're the most interesting things about the game? Maybe something bigger's broken here.

In any case, yeah, everyone's broken the CR in one way or another. Sometimes not breaking the CR causes you to break a different aspect of the CR. I dispute that that is the same thing as intentional, prolonged cheating such as Missy explicates above.

Maybe you're the kind of person who doesn't care what kind of words they use when they're online, or whether they curse someone else, or whether they are deliberately insulting. Maybe you're the kind of person who takes offense easily, or is defensive about something.

Maybe you're the kind of person who enjoys pretending to do or be those things, for reasons that are unclear.

But don't kid yourself. There are real people behind the facades here. I know that some players (who are experienced and knowledgable) maintain that there are members of staff who have become so valuable to maintaining the game that, if they should choose to manipulate things a little here and there in a crisis situation, their supervisors have refused to investigate when other players complain.

I'm not saying this is true. Just that this is what some people believe and it has caused (is causing) a great deal of anger and resentment.
