Please do not take advantage of the current errors in Cantr

Postby jeslange » Sun Jan 18, 2004 3:36 pm

It is currently not possible to see current events, as everyone has noticed. Since this basically makes our chars blind and deaf in a way that isn't realistic to their world, I hope nobody will abuse it. this is likely a situation where the game would be locked, so perhaps each player will take it upon his or her self to restrict the actions of his or her chars.

Is there any contact to the persons who are or will be fixing this?
Is there a way to prevent players from taking advantage?
Could everything be frozen until it is fixed? that would avert opportunistic activity.

The only ones I know of for certain who can lock the game are Jos, Thomas, and Cosmo. I imagine that some, such as Sico, Cathy, etc., might also be able to, but this is just a guess.
There is no way to prevent players from taking advantage of this that I know of, other than locking the game, and also the players themselves being fair.
Yes, the 3 mentioned above have been PMed. Thomas is busy with RL things, but checks in to look for problems like this. Cosmo is probably not awake yet, since it's still a bit early on the west coast. I don't know Jos's schedule, but I would imagine that this will be fixed by one of the 3 within an hour or 2.

Jeslange, is there an reason for this errors the last few days. Because yesterday we had the voilence-error and now this. Are they related in any kind of way or are we just facing a enormous amount of bad luck this weekend :?:

One more thing, is the game get's locked down later today, that would be a good moment to also undo the damage of the voilence-bug. My estimation is that we've had a loss of nearly 20-30 people thanks to yesterdays bug in the dutch areas only.

Maybe it's time to repair all the damage before opening the game again :!:
