All right, Nixit. Like Pie says, we'll use a stick to start, all right? he finds a stick just over a meter in length and hands it to Nixit. Now. The most important thing you'll ever learn about a sword is how to hold it. We could talk all day about that and never run out of new things to discuss. he holds out his own sabre for the boy to examine. To start, you should use a two-handed grip because it's easier and you'll train both your hands at once that way. The right hand -- you're right-handed, yes? -- goes at the top of the hilt, and the left at the bottom. Your palms face in opposite directions, inward, and your wrists remain slightly bent. This is key -- the wrists are never flattened out. When your sword impacts something, this adds strength and control, otherwise you risk dropping the blade. Notice how the left, bottom hand is bent at a more acute angle than the right.
he looks over the boy's grip and smiles. Not bad, not bad, but now we come to the part most beginners won't even think about. The fingers. The fingers should be at a slight angle off perpendicular from the hilt, towards the bottom. This allows greater flexibility and control. he reaches over and adjusts the lad's fingers, just so. Like that. Now, stand with your feet slightly apart, and slash the stick at my sabre. grins. Don't worry, I guarantee you won't come near me. Exactly! Not bad -- but you felt how the stick jarred in your hands when it hit the flat of the blade, right? That's because of the fingers again. See, there's a trick to it -- you need to squeeze the hilt at the moment of impact, starting with the little finger and progressing to the index finger. It takes a lot of practice, but it's absolutely crucial -- it adds speed, power, and stability to the sword tip when you strike. If you don't do it right, the blade will just deflect, or worse, bend, giving your opponent an opening. So let's practice that for a while. Again, feet slightly apart, knees slightly bent, slash down at the sabre and practice squeezing your fingers from bottom to top in one easy motion just as the stick impacts the blade.

I thought I made my opinion known a few hours ago, but perhaps I was not clear enough. Spider is either a maniac that will get us all killed as he rushes into battle unprepared or he is a TBR spy that wants to lead us into a trap. Either way, it's best to handle him right now.
Vote Spider
((I already voted for him but was not included in the tally))

*He slowly opens his eyes, gazing around at all the activity, or lack of, sizing up the situation* Seems to me we should be preparing for battle, not accusing everyone of being a spy.....why isn't anyone making more weapons? Let's get to work, people, we've got an enemy to eliminate, or have you all forgotten? This infighting is getting us no where. If we were to lock half of you away we might get somewhere.
*His eyes continued to scan the crowd, then narrowed in on Mafia Salad* You, sir, are the most troubling of the bunch. Quiet, non-commital, just waiting to run back up to the forest and tell them all. You I don't trust, not for one minute. I've seen your sort before, and I won't fall for that again, no sir.

You guys seem so obsessed with TBR. Perhaps you are not seeing the potential of other threats here. No, I'm not going to help you lynch any TBR unless you give me a sound reason, but once the killing starts I doubt that they will be the only ones you need to worry about, and I can help stop other unnecessary deaths. I'm not going to let you kill me because of your own shortsighted power struggle.

*he raises a brow and looks towards Mafia Salad* What exactly -is- your reasoning for your choice...? Or did you just randomly pick one of us to try to kill...?
Awkward: Having your phone go off full volume during a funeral.

He's been the one raising the most suspicion and aggression against me and he has more than anyone else been elevation the whole situation here to mob violence.

I don't agree with you there. I'd say it's more likely that Phalynx or spider have been the ones. *he nods, thinking* So you vote for the man to save your own skin...*he turns to saztronic* Perhaps you were right...
