A few more symptoms

You sneeze.

Maybe a different plague could be introduced too...

You cough,

You vomit,

Sneezing is caused by other people sneezing. I don't know of a root cause, but if you ignore it, it will go away in about 3-5 days.

I think disease could have a lot more impact... but it wouldn't be very popular now would it..

Of course... they already exist... there's no point in a disease for sleepers is there.. apart from perhaps eliminating them sooner

One of my characters once had a cold and sneezed a lot. :(
But probably diseases should be implemented properly, who wants roleplaying in a roleplaying game? Get rid of it I say!

It's a strategy and simulation game too you know.

I wouldn't mind a few more diseases, maybe slightly more serious ones...right now sneezing is a minor annoyance but that's it. I'd love to be able to play a doctor, or see how people would react if there was a need to quarantine a town, or keep people from that town from coming to yours, etc.

From the attempts I've seen to isolate sneezers, such quarantining would seem difficult. But as suggested elsewhere, it would make a bit of use for the apothecary table.
Of course, in Mikey's words, it's more nerfing.

I'm just not seeing how this would improve the game overall.

pros -

Someone will get to play a doctor.

The apocrathy table has a use.

It is realistic.

cons-

People quit playing when their chars start to die of the stomach flu.

The herbs needed for the table mixture are on an island 15 years of travel away.

New players get discouraged and quit when their char starts to vomit everywhere and they don't know how to fix it.

Everyone will gripe on the forums when it starts to effect their own characters.

Another obstacle for players to deal with when trying to create more than a single town society.

Any fun people will have because of it won't last long.

hehe... I really cannot agree more. Nerf it some more what the hell? I really like the idea, but the game needs to be sped up in many other areas before we should go on a major nerfing, like diseases. imho.
I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.

Locking this as a duplicate suggestion and bouncing the chatter to the last thread (regretfully, since I recall the last thread being such a nice discussion that will soon be ruined).
