Too Bad???! That was his own dang fault, I don't know what he was doing headbutting that guy. He's stupid, that's what he is. Can't control his temper or whatever, and it ended up probably causing the French to lose.
Just because you're older, smarter, stronger, more talented... doesn't mean you're BETTER.

I know he made a big mistake, I'm just saying that that was the poor guy's last game and it ended like that... That must really suck for him..
Plus, I think the other guy cursed at him or something to make him that angry. I'm not defending him, I wanted to Italy to win this last game, I'm just saying what I thought.

This may be -complete- rubbish but from what I heard Zidane is from some middle eastern country and the Italian guy called him a "Dirty terrorist" so as far as I'm concerned the Italien guy was being racist and deserved all he got

Whatever his ethnic origin, and whatever was said, that level of violence cannot be tolerated in a sporting arena, it was disgusting...
I hope he and Rooney get a significant punishment, because it seems disgracing their national side is not enough for either of them..

Well, World Cups's over and there's a champion. Congratulations to the Italy team and all of its supporters. A champion is certainly a champion, there's no hesitate on that.
But...
1) I still do remember the fake penalty on minute 92 against Australia.
2) What a defensive play, Italy, in the Final!
I liked how they played against Ghana and Germany, but Final match was simply awful. France should have won in the 90 minutes by a goal or two.
3) It's very bad for Football that a WC have been decided again by the penalty kicks. In my humble opinion, penalties are just a question of luck. And I wish to have a great performer team as a World Cup's champions, not a lucky one.
4) Fair play debt: Against USA an italian player - I think it was De Rossi - hurt an states one, and he have to be changed because he was blooding like a tap. What a shame! And that italian player kick one of the penalties againts France...
5) Fair play debt: Zinadine Zidane. I know he had a bad reaction and he has been totally unprofessional, but... What are the problems concerning racism in Italy? It's not the first time, let's see:
a) Italy 1990, Napoli stadium, Argentina-Italy: all the attendance whistled at the argentinean national anthem, while Diego Maradona, instead of singing the anthem, moved his lips saying in silence, in front of cameras, "son of bit**es"
b) There's an italian players -luckyly not in the selection - who is tatooed with the word "Duce" and he celebrates his goals making the Mussolini gesture.
c) Materazzi saying "shit**ng argeline" and "terrorist" to a football star as Zinedine Zidane, on Final match in Germany 06. Zidane is a human before being a football player, and he reacted as Maradona's done in 1990. I do not justify them, I try to understand those reactions, and also try to understand italians. But in this last case, I can't
6) The Italian Football Association has become the leader on corruption in football. They just simply don't deserve to play a WC for a long period of time. Where's FIFA discipline judgement?
Everyone who's love Football know that Italy hasn't been better than teams as Germany, France, England, Argentina or even Portugal. They were lucky, that was their advantage on the others. But as I said, I don't like "lucky" winners, as I don't like unfair players, too.
