Mykey's War-mongering thread!

It seems Mykey gets upset when people tell him to go take his ongoing suggestions for more violence in cantr somewhere else... He then gets all self righteous amd claims he doesn't argue for more violence.. so here's a few posts to help you make your mind up.....

Your going to do whatever you like and I like the idea for my one homicidal character anyways. I`ll be able to hit more people.

I do not see why we shouldn`t all be easily slaughtered. I assume some cantrians based on human personalities, should have a great need for materialism, violence and subjects to toy with. :Twisted Evil:

I think the best motivation to build roads, would be as this thread suggest, along with a believeable decay system, and "encouraging" warfare a little more couldn`t hurt. I think everytime Prog D wants to slow the game down, we should just De-nerf the combat system a little more, better than amneisha imo.

I`ll be writing an essay about nerfing soon, as soon as I get enough examples. Wink I`ve said before I think alot of crap is implemented to make progress more difficult... In RL we have violence for that and an effective combat system, we don`t need to nerf everything god gave us at first. We are pretty good at violence, I think Cantrians should get better at it.

I think I could end my rant with combat if I could hit 100% more people before fatigue sets in, and i only missed 25% more of the time. It would just make warring abit easier.

Well I`m not talking random killing here. I mean organized warfare with armies and stuff... OK maybe i enjoy killing to much but, I still think it is really discouraged with this system. There doesn`t seem to be much encouragement to me. And I know others disagree but war, imo is a major contributing factor to societies.

Well I'm bored now.. but I think I've proved a point I made before, that Mykey makes it appear his main interest is in more violence and killing in cantr.

So mykey, if actually you like pressing flowers and counting clouds, now's the chance to have your say!

You could probably take quotes from your own posts and construe the same conclusion for your stance on things. Maybe not as many, but still, all things can be tweaked the right way out of context without actually misquoting.

Just because he'd like to see some changes within the current system doesn't mean that he wants merely more violence. It just means he probably sees things he thinks can be improved. Anyway... I'm sure he can say enough for himself and I'll leave him to it...

One of his quotes to justify this bloodthirstyness was something about RL warfare causing progress.
This is the biggest way Cantr differs from RL.
The progress is due to invention, which is spurred by warfare, and then utilised in peacetime.
In Cantr invention is non-existent. Everyone potentially knows everything there is to know, so warfare cannot improve on this, just waste char lives and resources.

Was there really a need for this... it is just a way to start an argument.. Some people argue for clothes.. some for foods... and they are not ridiculed.... personally, I feel it is childish behavior to do what you did. So what if he does want more violence, I don't, but it doesn't mean I need to judge others for wanting it... to each his own. He is still a cantr player, he still enjoys playing, and he has every right to his own opinions..
Sarcasm cannot be seen when you quote only a line or 2 of what it says, so some of what was quoted is being taken out of context I am sure...

Like or dislike of a fellow cantrer is not the point here... it is vengeful to spend the time you did to find all those quotes...we ALL have our shortcomings....including myself...and you too Phalynx... so don't judge others, unless you want to be judged yourself.

( perhaps you miss my point Sunni, Mykey has denied wanting more violence and combat in game but yet at every given opportunity, he raises it again and again... . What he wants is in direct contradiction to the stated aim of the game, not to make a slasher)

(I don't dislike Mykey, never met the chap, but I dislike what he posts... No body moans about the bashing Pie gets... and I am way sure like Hermi said Mykey is perfectly capable of defending himself and making me look stupid to boot!)

Starting a thread to deliberately slash another player is wrong, I think it should be locked or completely deleted... (hint hint to the chair)

Using the cantr forum to release childish behavior is not good... trying to drive away a cantr player is even worse...(even if that was not the intent) I don't think violence is needed... but I have argued for it before... and Mykey has argued for things besides violence... I am sure a bashing thread could be started about you... (or me for that matter)...but I wouldn't stoop that low or waste my time searching for posts...

I am very disappointed in you Phalynx, as we do not appreciate any kind of thread which is nothing more than a flaming of another forum member. This thread is locked with immediate effect, and I don't want to see a repeat of it.

First it was wrong to lock this. I found it humorous. I do bash Pie and Phalynx is right. As for finding all those quotes, I am flattered.
I just want to say I stand by all those statements....For some reason, either my wording or readers perception, I come off as an extremist who wants nukes. This is not the case...I played this game at a time when the use of crowbars was unknown. I`ve seen slaughter. I would like some of that system restored. I will not get it. I realize by now most of you understand or think you understand what I want. So I will just let it die down. I`m not keeping score. I`ll leave that to Phalynx. If you really dislike my opinions PM me. There is no need to clog the threads with flames and petty arguments. Violence takes up a very big part of all RL actions. Why is it nerfed out of feasebility in cantr? Not sure. I`ll work around it I suppose....
