Not the fact here... I cannot give details as to what happened... but these were suppose to be her family/friends... She was active...not quiet and non talkative!

THATS why I said it was bad... I am an active player.. so there is a wide chance of getting a response from my charri in the line of RP... soooo... if you don't at least give it a shot... how will you know?

Yes, but you can see the difference in those sorts of characters, can you not? Generally anyway... even my char that drags sleeping/quiet newspawns into a building and kills them gives them some sort of rp to respond to... not very pleasant for them, but hey.. they shouldn't have broke the law... <.<

Aye, Cantrlady's scenario does not apply in this situation.

It is actually OOC for me to NOT RP murder, and so... yes.

Simple!

See Sunni's example. There's not even really a need for an 'explanation', just a tiny bit of effort in RPing. And isn't all RPing for the 'benefit of other players'? So I still don't see where you're getting OOC from...

(I kind of get the feeling you've probably murdered someone like that before, and are just defending yourself...;))

What does that mean? If you are not suppose to RP it... then why do you? Do you think not saying words makes the act, or thought put behind it any different?

Nope only ever murdered two characters and they both knew exactly what I was up to... although they were so sleepy and unresponsive they probably only found out in the report they got emailed about it...

There are some characters who RP every time they hunt or hit someone and everything they do, they are damn rare, and then a comment such as Sunni made would be in character... I can't see it being appropriate otherwise....

You consider dragging a person (who is possibly your friend) inside and slowly murdering them to be about the same as hunting? Should I be scared? Even suicidal newspawns at least get insulted....

:D

My current batch of characters couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag so you are safe!...

Sunni's example was
*he walks in... his bow ready and cocked... suddenly.. a creepy grin speads on his face as he draws his bow up and releases the arrow*

That is just an enhanced description of what occurs... when I see this IG, and its not that often I find it IG, unless its done realy well it actually breaks up the game, often it makes it look like someone was attacked twice.

If a player does not normally put that kind of descriptive effort into their gameplay why should it change just when you are murdering your friends...

we don't know the situation, I'm suprised Sunni chose to break the 4 day rule in this way (if indeed she did) but if I was murdering a friend I would want to do it as stealthfully and quietly as possible, not with a lot of kerfuffle...

I guess I view the style of someone's role play as part of their character's personality, to change that style just for a particular situation would seem OOC to me.

If Sunni wants special RP rights for her charcaters she will have to reveal their names then if I ever find I have to kill them I can make a special effort for her...

I did no such thing... I did not talk specifics... I only complained about the lack of RP coming from what is a very well played charri... who does in fact use actions alot...

Never asked for any special treatment... again IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE LACK OF RP!!!!! If you don't want to RP then..DON'T .... but then.. why play cantr....?

I guess I'm just going to drop this now before it gets dragged out any further, but sorry Phalynx, but I'm never going to be able to agree with you on this one or understand why you're suddenly insisting RP is OOC, (I swear you pick the wierdest things to latch on to and defend/attack...) when the way I see it a char not having a single word or even facial expression during something this important would be slightly OOC, or at least hard to understand from an IG standpoint.

(Heck, even the lack of a facial expression could make for good RP... *he aims his bow, his face expressionless* is better than nothing.)

So one of your characters has not been dragged from amongst friends into a room and attacked and then killed in the last 4 days?

I guess we just have different ideas about what RP is...

If I take Angus MacGregor as an example, one of the most verbose characters I have ever played alongside, when wakefull never misses an opportunity to have a speech or tale or a plan to outline...

I've seen him attack and kill.. don't recall him even speaking to a number of the people my charrie saw him attack. Its part of his character (I hope I am not misrepresenting the character here) that if anyone offends him or breaches the law they realise they will get the sharp end of a claymore... and he certwinly wouldn't waste his breath on speaking to them, unless it was to issue a warning and an example to others. I think he is brilliantly RP'd but his player certainly does not give a blow by blow description of an attack as it happens. Of course you might find an enhanced version of it in a note or song later but thats different.

Different people play the game in different ways... it's all role play... if you're not happy with it imagine it was a stab in the back or an arrow in the back.. you didn't see anything, youur character goes to his/her grave unaware of the fate that struck them.... do the RP for the murderer...

over several days? I think you would notice >.<

You are correct on one point..I let my frustration get the best of me and shared more than I should have... (but I never said my charri was killed...) I was only frustrated at the poor roleplay.. and it was my entire point....

Sometimes I like playing devil's advocate... 8)

To me this is the same thing as the typing and grammar facism on that other thread.. It takes people of all different levels of skill and ability to allow the game to exist in its current form... if you want an elite exclusive game you are going to have to buy your own server and set your own game up...

Maybe we should just have a bitchin' board for the really serious RP'ers..

You did too say they got killed... all of this isn't worth falling out over anyways, just wish there was a little more give and take...

Maybe crosshair was in a hurry, its the weekend he thought he'd chuck in a blow but then his character killed your charri but he didn't have time to do it justice... it happens its a game!
