I would like to formally ask that the Department reconsider my suggestions for future forum registration coming from a serial number provided by a cantr account. This would also mean that certain mischievous players will have a harder time masquerading under other account names, and would in turn, be breaking the PD rule about one account per player if they were to have various forum accounts.
One of the numerous positive effects of this would be no bot spam accounts and fewer human spammers who would go through the trouble.

Having more than one account on the forums shouldn't be considered bad nor enforced in any way. The rule is one game account per person, not forum. It doesn't really lend you any perks, other than allow you to post on controversial things in relative anonymity if you so wish. The truth can always be found out by moderators through IP's if a person is particularly annoying.
I do not mind the thought of some way of trying to cut back on spam, such as requiring some sort of number to register or whatever like that.
But really this should be discussed in a separate thread? I know it's about spamming but this topic is about specific spamming incidents that need to be taken care of. I'm believing that you want feedback (or more feedback) on this suggestion, so maybe one of your past suggestions should be resurrected to house this suggestion.

lol, I didn't think of that possibility. I was just thinking of how a lot of people on the hockey forums I go to have a main account and then a secret one so they could post their true views (especially if they're in the minority) on controversial subjects without getting overly baked for them. I never bothered with that, but I figured it was a good option for some. Not good for polls though... Still don't see it being important enough to make a one forum account per person though.
