Here's something:

Genetic traits are a combination of those of two (presumably opposite-sex) characters in the spawn town, mixed with a few random variables, right?

A and B live in a town alone.
One day, C spawns. A and B know C is their son, and love him.

B goes off to collect resources. A and C are in town.

D is born.

Incest? :?

OH NOES! If how-mo-sex-yoo-allity is legalized in cantr, the gays will take over!!! The institution of marriage will go down the drain!!!!! Nauseatingly cute "families" in cantr will be torn apart!!!!! This could be worse than sleeping sickness!!!!! IS THIS THE DECLINE OF CANTR CIV'LIZATION?!?!!

Someone get Jerry Falwell on the line!

:P

My question wasn't answered, though.

The matrix is always screwing itself, so not incest, if yes than by reason all are products of it.

lol You're so funny west :P

In regards to the question, would you consider it incest?

I think it would be up to the individual on whether they think it is or isn't. For me, I see it as: As of yet, it's not like your char has control so... why would it be incest? lol Really doesn't exist in Cantr. Yet.

That's why there are random traits added to the mix, for -umm- situations like this.

I can't remember where I read this, but I think somebody suggested one time that regular Cantrians "bred" by giving off spores like mushrooms. I like that one. :) And I've kind of always pictured newspawns as coming out of the ground, so it fit.

I think it's going to be interesting when we have babies being born and mushroom people being spawned the regular way. Wonder if culture is going to change a lot because of it, or if everything will still stay the same as always, except a few people get to play house now?

What if there is an option for a player to choose whether or not he/she wants to be born to parents.

Let me explain...

Joe and Jane decide that they want to be parents. Joe selects and option in the people list (similar to whispering) that says "Procreate" or something similar. Jane must accept this (to protect from abuse of such a thing).

Jack is starting a new account. When creating his first characters, he is able to choose "birth" or "adulthood" (the latter is what we have now). If he selects "birth", Joe and Jane are immediately notified that they have a child, and they can see his name automatically from creation. They must wait one Cantr year before having another child. Jack is 6 years old. Age rate is doubled for Jack until he reaches 18 years of age. This childhood allows for Jack to have a steady and stable first few years in Cantr where he gets a feel for the world and is given equipment or food by his loving parents. And his upbringing plays a strong part in what he is like as an adult. Parents must be at least 25 to have children.

John is also a new player. When creating his first character, he chooses "birth". At the time there are no characters that wish to have a child. So, John's first character is qued until two characters of opposite gender decide to have a child. When two characters decide to have a child, John's character is pulled out of the que, and he can now begin his Cantrian journey.

I think birth, families, and childhood is a dazzling idea. Many sociologists and psychologists have noted that childhood and upbringing is the most crucial, molding period of one's life.

It would add miles worth of complexity and interest into the world. Royal families, heritage, family name honours, etc. All this would be added.

Your thoughts?

I forgot to say that if a new character doesn't wish to be born, he will start Cantr like we start Cantr now.

It is not implemented. When it is, it will be moved to the implemented suggestion board. Personally, I can't wait. This will open up so many doors for me.

This is one of the subjects that, if not accepted by the majority very quickly, I would've campaigned.

Cantr is amazing. And this period of its life, doubly so. This is a new era of Cantr. It seems I came back at a great time.
