Has "crumbling" changed to "Unusable"?

I think... crumbling becomes unusable just before it actually disappears.

Oh. I never noticed that before. Thank you. I've seen quite a few crumbling items, but never an unusable one until today.

How about a broom? I've yet to find a use for one.

It's a weapon, isn't it?

Barely better than a bare fist. A fishing spear is easier to make (in terms of time and resources - same tools), deals more damage, is lighter and is easier to repair. It also happens to have a use other than hitting stuff. A broom doesn't. That is why the broom is probably the most commonly cited useless item in Cantr.

It used to not have any weapon value either. Now it's a novel way to slowly kill captive travelers in the mountains, chase away the raccoons from your town, and other things like that which could use a bit of personality in the process.

Back on topic, I like to keep my stuff repaired and not in a state of unusability.

Indeed I'd like to live in a town where letting your tools/weapons become crumbling would result in a death sentence!

Has anyone played ADOM? In it there is a 'potion of uselessness' and you can get a <spoiler> if you find a use for it. Perhaps that's like the broom in Cantr.

I assume a <spoiler> is worth getting then?

Ooo..now that you mentioned the broom..I wonder how much trouble it would be if I whacked someone with it...

Anyway..I'm tempted to experiment with the unuable thing, can you still repair it once it gets to that stage or does it go poof in the next day?

:o Has no one ever swept out their cottage? You're all living in filthy squallor!

(just don't look at my real house  )

I love that we have a broom in game, even if it has no function. It makes it possible for Cantrians to know what a broom is. I wish we had a lot more unusable items, just so we could enhance our rp.

(I only posted on here so Slowness wouldn't feel bad about being the last poster anymore  )
