Well, with every oven I've ever seen the stovetop with four burners is right on top of it. That's how I've always pictured the Cantr ones anyway...
But allright then, can we get a different kind of stove then? It's kind of silly that something like that doesn't exist, and that'll allow for more varieties of food. (fried fish? And we'd finally have an excuse for something like a cast-iron skillet instead of using a stone pot all the time)

I've always pictured the ovens in Cantr without the rangetop, burners, hob, etc. Primative Oven is a heap of mud hollowed out.
Otherwise with all the stone used for "oven" Iview it as a "brick oven" liek you cook pizza and bread in. The Gas oven likewise, though made with iron to be similar to a kiln in appearence, but fueled by gas lines going into it.
No cook-top really....but that's just my view.
Though having an Iron Skillet, or Iron Cauldron would be a wonderful addition to the stone pot. Same uses, but using durable metallics.

with the exception of the range cooker at the top, none of these ovens come with hobs.
An oven of this style, I feel, doesn't fit well with Cantr's overall technology level (which I picture as mainly medieval, with irritating exceptions)
This is what I imagine as a Cantr oven:

I think most things cooked on a modern hob would have been cooked on an open fire, something like this:

Eitherway, a hob would require either electric or piped gas, which we don't have in Cantr. I don't really like the way gas is handled without the need for containers or anything of that nature, so think it's best if we didn't create new uses for it.

A hob? Is this a metal plate that can be heated?
I thought of a new primitive fuel but it's a bit controversial, its basically dead wood but this should not be the name actually. It is found on every location except the arid ones so on locations with wood as well as without. It's collected by combing the land for dead plants and sticks. The project can be done fast but this resource is in short supply for it rots away about just as fast as it is added.

But you can't always get dung if your char is unable to make a kill. It's personal experience also, i had 2 newspawns hurt that weren't healed by other chars and they have hardly any choice but flee. Without food you can't risk that so now it's best to be inside so as not to get hurt again. Now how is the unarmed char going to cook dinner inside without fuel?

Even though I think a 'dung oven' might be a bit much, I still sort of agree with the original post that it would make sense to be able to use a fire place like that.
Of course, if your char has access building with a fireplace or oven they probably have a pretty cushy life already, at least compared to some...
As for not being able to hunt, well, the only thing I can think of is to beg animal products off of people that can hunt, or if you're alone just run out for a few minutes to hunt or collect resources every day until you finally manage. If there's stone for a oven or fireplace around you can probably get enough to at least make a stone cleaver. I know it sucks when it's your char, but survival shouldn't be easy for a defenseless newspawn all by themselves anyway, I think, and I don't think fuel should get any easier than dung...I mean, even if you were just burning leaves and grass you'd still have to stand outside and be at risk a little while to collect it.
