No - the limits are set in stone .
You should either save you picture at a slightly lower resolution/ quality to reduce it's size , or do as many others do chop it into two or more sections and upload these as seperate images

Please can you make an exception then, I really want an image uploaded that couldn't possibly make it smaller without loss of quality, which would ruin it really. Please?

I'm sorry but that can't be done - no exceptions can be made
You'll have to chop the image into two or three smaller pieces and put them together in the appropriate note
The first image below is two images side by side
The 2nd image is two images on top of each other - In the note you won't see the small vertical white line between the two verticalimages
