Poorly RP'ed Killings

Postby N-Aldwitch » Mon Jun 12, 2006 12:50 am

The last thing we as players can ask for is a well-role-played and well-acted exectioner when one of our characters is going to be killed. I think I'm right in saying this as there is nothing left for the character to experience.
Sure, some players like to make their characters silent when they kill someone, but if you're going to starve someone, you think you'd at least say -'SoandSo, you're going to rot away in here from hunger. *smiles angrily*'
Rather than
-You are hungry.
-You are hungry.
-Your iron shield is beyond repair.
-You die.

Or even people who enter your jail, and stab you to death day by day without saying anything at all... If it's a random suicidal newspawn we can assume that it's perfectly fine to ignore them, they definately don't deserve any good RP'ed murder.

In other cases, it's really quite sad that some players don't even have the common decency to RP the last moments of someone's hard-earned Cantr character.

Henceforth, I invite all to post about their experiences with a really, really bad executioner so we can strain/filter out this indecency. Keep in mind the four day rule when posting. (I'll post one in three days)
Nakranoth's "evil" character says:
"Thief! That's terrible! *shakes his head* That would hurt people's feeling if I did that."

Whenever I say something really cool right before I kill a thief... I miss.

Hmm, I can think of a recent stabbing that ended as abruptly as people familiar with the area can expect. We'll see if it matches up in 3 days.

The problem is that not everyone is familiar enough to know if thier blow will be the last, so why RP a big production "Muhahaha! This is the end for you now! Your doom is at hand YEAHAA!"only to get:

You are attacked by Tom Tomson and unharmed. The poor slob missed.

Most people RP blows AFTER they land, which is kind of lost on the now dead players ears.
Reality was never my strong point.

Just as it would be nice for some people dying to get some good rp from the char killing them, it would be nice to get some good prisoners to rp back when your char is trying to torture them to death or the like. Some people don't bother with the rp of killing someone sometimes now probably because they do not often get a reaction in return.

I do remember one of my chars in a situation where she was getting killed but her rp was ignored mostly. There was some rp but not really much and not much in response to what she was going through and expressing.

And another char that got killed... well, there could've been a lot more. She kept trying to ask why she was being killed because she was innocent and naive, but she only got some answers from a guy not really up on the list and they were answers she didn't understand really. She wanted to plead her case but no one high enough ever let her. She probably would've ended up choosing death though.

My chars don't usually get violently killed though...

A lot of charracters killed are killed in jail... entering a room attacking and leaving does not really lend itself to RPing interaction - jailors seem to be busy to hang around for me to cry and sob and beg...... Like other people I have said something clever alluding to the final blow only to miss and look faintly stupid... :(

I try to say something vague enough to fit whether the blow kills them or I have to wait for another blow to kill them. I never rp the actual blow before it's struck.

If they are locked in a room for a few days you can do some buildup RP.

One of my characters used to force people to entertain him before he killed them, but most just ignored his rp.
