We will be able to talk about it when it is over, and right now there are still plenty of people who say it's not over. There is no bias; it's just that between then and now staff has decided to be more strict on restricting OOC discussion, and I believe this decision was mostly motivated by exactly the anti-TBR chatter you're complaining about.

Everyone knows what happened before TBR scarpered across the ocean
No, I don't thing everybody does because anything concerning TBR is not allowed to be talked about on the forums.
Everyone still thinks that TBR ran away from the forces of the entire island which were attacking them in their own forest for exaggerated reasons but mostly to get their hematite. They, in fact, had been planning to leave the island for several years in order to find peace from constant threat. Even though it meant leaving behind all they had built.
Even then, groups found reason to follow and attack them but the only thing people hear about is the mild attack (massacre of the entire town!!) on Kirrinn where exactly one person was killed.
Now, because of the ban on talking about the war until ???? the truth of these new incidents will also take many years to be known.

Truth? History is written by the victors. If what's heard in Kwor is that there was a massacre, let there have been a massacre.
This is why there shouldn't be OOC discussion of this. The truth would be nice to know from an academic standpoint, I suppose, but history isn't founded on the truth. History is founded on what people tell each other happened. Now, if I (west) listen to Kinvoya (and I really have no reason not to) I know that TBR killed one person in Kirinn. If I (my char) listen to someone in-game, I hear that they massacred the entire town. Now who is right?
The answer is that, provided the information my char got was based on IC info (and I don't mean neccessarily the truth; I mean whatever info got passed on, whether it was through miscommunication, exaggeration, or plain lies), then that's what I want to know. "The True History of so-and-so" should only be told on the forums, if at all, long after the fact.
Cantr isn't about what really happened. It's about what our characters, following the capital rule, think happened.
I'm not dead; I'm dormant.

I totally agree, west. I don't think any in game events should be discussed on the forums. But I also know there are massive OOC groups discussing everything.
What bites my butt is that the events surrounding TBR seem to be the only ones that are forbidden. I've read about lots of other wars conflicts deaths, etc.
This all started out with me asking what I consider to be a reasonable question. How long before the war can be discussed? Who will make that decision? What will it be based upon?
I am essentially pointing out that these things are a little too arbitrary for me to consider them fair. If we have a four day rule then things that happened four days ago should be discussable. If we change it to 20 or 40 then that is at least a concrete number.

That business is so far from over in game! Sorry yours chars don't know this. But that's what it should be based on. Your talking may yet influence events.
I don't want to hear your side here now. There will be plenty of time for that later.
Please.

I thought it was 20 for major events now, at least unofficially...and that's after the event is over, of course.
I don't really know or care about that island, (though at least it seems more interesting now...only char I ever had their died of boredom), but there have been way too many events ruined by OOC chatter, and for the sake of the people who do care I think the subject shoudl be dropped. (And anyway, talking about how the anti-TBR people are commiting genocide is just as bad as accusing TBR of a massacre, IMHO. Practice what you preach.)

I thought that the rule was:
1. not talking about ongoing events
2. not talking about things like so and so stole this till four days had passed (and then you should still try to wate longer)
3. you can talk about unimportant things right after it happens if it is very vage (like today one of my caracters made his/her first ship)

The following statement is not true.

I gett so frustrated about all this discussion ... the 4 day rule or 20 days if you prefer or whatever is merely a reflection of the fact that some people can't be trusted to follow the CR... but guess what those same people will use the info whenever its released. Personally I have discussed thigs happening in the last few hours with a staff member OOC through another medium, and I bet that is happening all the time.
There is private IRC chat, Y messenger or MSN, or PMs or email...
I have to trust they won't use that info and I choose not to
I think you should either have a total ban on IG discussion, or chill out and let things slide!
YOU DON'T HAVE TO READ THE FORUMS
Maybe use *SPOILER* in the heading then people have the choice... if you worried about CRB guess what a forum ban does nothing, anyone who expressed an interest in, in this case TBR, can be PMing each other and communicating anyway

Come off it... it would be easy to sepparate out the IG discussion into a sepperate board... or use a word or code that people know means don't read if you don't want to know!
Oh and by the way, everyone here who is protesting they don't want to know would be the first one's in there checking!
