I've searched for this idea and not found it;
Copying a lock. You use a key to start a new lock project so that you have multiple locks with the same key.
It'd be handy for two reasons;
1, only having to carry one key, (if you really wanted to).
2, you could have certain rooms in your organisation having the same lock (like all your storerooms) and make copies of the keys for each person trusted to use that room, they would be able to enter a similar room in other buildings/towns without messing about with keys.
Or where you have people building outposts, they could use a key from the "head office" to make the lock for the front door and future employees would have access to any outpost across the land.
Lock copy

Yeah, a combination lock is like the evolutionary result of this idea- smooth, efficient, sleek, saves diskspace, saves transfer...
Good ideas both of you.
You get the Aldwitch Nod.
(it's a new branding mark... yes, trust me, it's a nod)

Hehehe, I was like, hold on, that's the suggestion being made!
But then I realised that tiddy means a key that like fits all locks in a certain place... which makes sense!
Anyway Tiddy, how would this work? Just make a key that fits in certain numbered doors? Like, for example, if you had keys 11223344 and 12121212, you could add those numbers to the master key and have instant access to the rooms in question. Kind of like a Uni-Key. But then again it's just like a combination lock, it's basically a 'password' to enter the next room!
Which people may be against as people/players want a concrete Cantr world (ie if a building's locked, you can't enter it without a key or crowbar- FULL STOP. A combination lock allows POTENTIAL access minus the use of these two tools).
BAH! TIRED!
