What can players do to make load times faster?

Postby jeslange » Thu Jan 08, 2004 6:09 pm

It's getting worse every day it seems. What used to take me about 30 or 40 min. now takes about 100 to 120 min, and this is after I had over half of my chars removed. So, what needs to be done? How much do notes affect this? Does this forum have some effect?

This is being looked into.

Players can do a few things but it will only help a little bit.

1) put notes in envelops
2) bury the bodies
3) Clean up old projects
4) Don't gather in large groups

Now like I said this will have very little improvement effect.
So you should just do what you normally do.
The 50+ bodies in Kwor is a natural landmark. :)

Watch out not to influence gameplay too much, though. E.g. the suggestion not to stay in too large groups is really something that should not influence the game. We have to find solutions to make the game faster, not the players.

Realistic gameplay requires that you bury bodies, though ;) ... And the notes trick also helps.

Dang, too bad for Kwor, eh?

Can too many abandoned projects effect it too?

Yep. Infact, every object does. But then, characters also effect it, so how about a cheer for Blerks in Kwor, OK?

But I thinki there's enough server bandwith available, so it must be something different effecting it IMHO. Also, the number of objects doesn't explain why the game why sometimes the game is running at normal speed. But like meh said:

I'll just have faith then. :D
