No on account of it being even more pointless than a primitve bow!

Kali Sticks

Postby Kael » Sun Jun 04, 2006 1:06 am

How about Kali Sticks. Origins come from the Filipino fighting style. Simply made out of two hard wood sticks, about an inch in diameter and three feet in length.

So:

500 grams of wood

And then along those lines, why not a staff as well.

We have more then enough weapons made of only wood. Unless it involves more resources then just wood, or requires more specialized tools, it is unlikely to be added.

What about a Falchorn?

hideously heavy weapon... Short, with a big thick blade that could easily do more damage than a sabre.

500g wood,

200g oil?

could be medium damage, and could open up RP too....

How would this differ from the walking staff in any way?

If you mean walking stick... there's a massive difference...

I think the staff would probably have to be made from timber... or perhaps a lot of wood to reflect the fact that you need the finest and strongest wood to make one...
It could also involve iron as they were often made with additional pieces of metal for decoration and protecting the ends from splitting...

Hehe.. Surly nice to see you are wrong sometimes!

I like the stone dagger idea,

But I want to bump up my idea of brass knuckles. Thoughts? Anyone?

Brass knuckles would be about as popular and a tactical use of metal as the steel bagh-nakh.

Ok this might be kinda far fetched but a balista that you can fire from the town to the road or sea it could be like a vehicle that doesnt move and it would take 60000g of timber and 1000g of thick rope and all the timber tools and a hammer and screwdriver to make.
