They're not. The resulution is higher, less "square".

yeah, i was in the middle of composing an ooc map of the k island from the pictures. oh well. the new maps look better so i can't really complain.

Yeah, I was doing the same... but yes, the new versions look much better, they dont look like they are used from the paint program anymore, lol.

:!: the resolution isnt better, is 36x36 pixels (zoomed in image tag to 150x150) like the old ones, only difference is a blur effect, and more colors.

sorry to say but the newer ones dont look very sharp... :cry:

Thats because the blur looks good thats what makes it so 'sharp'!!!!!!! It's one of those things that shouldn't be right but is, if you understand what I mean which if you did you would understand my point but if you didn't you wouldn't understand my generalisation anyway. *phew* I so....very...much..envy...you....bums...*collapses from exhaustion*

The graphics themselves haven't changed, but I did update the graphics library on the server with a new version, so things might look slightly different indeed.
