It did make it back to her home, all of her things that she dropped in the forest. I don't think Carmel was there when they were delivered and the char waited for Carmel for a long time. Eventually, the things were given to someone else (who seemed trustworthy enough) to give to Carmel when she got back or woke up or whatever it was keeping her from taking the things herself. She tried to honor the will; she just had to get back home, too.
