GET RID OF THE USELESS METERS!!!
How's that for a suggestion?
15 charries * 6 bars to monitor = 90 stats to mind
Add in projects to work on, employees to manage, stock, governments, laws, criminals, pirates, animals, item rot ...
I CAN'T TAKE THE PRESSURE!!!!!
Drop it all back to just 3 bars. The three important ones. Your health, hunger and tiredness.
I know, I know. "But it's realistic for us to need to clean ourselves!" "How are deserts ever gonna have an impact if people don't get thirsty?" "I WANNA GIT DRUNK!!!"
I know the arguments and I really just don't care any more. They're not being used, there are as many people against an idea as for, and if we're really gonna make something important enough to need a red bar to measure, it filling up should mean your characters emminent doom, not you need a bath.
Here's some great arguements on why we should make things simpler: "Hey, remeber when cantr was a game?" "Whippersnapper! Back in my day, we used to play cantr for FUN!!!"
I know there's an ever raging battle between the gamers and the realists as to wether this is a GAME or a SOCIETY SIMULATOR, but either way you label it, wasn't it FUN once? C'mon, let's Keep I Simple, and give it some fun back.

I agree, I've kind of been hoping no one ever gets around to adding in all the other stuff, and in the meantime the bars are useless.
EDIT: I guess I wouldn'nt mind thirstiness being added, as long as water gets added everywhere except maybe the desert, but the other ones are pointless and too complicated. (plus you can just RP something like dirtiness or taking a bath anyway)

My thoughts exactly.
Nakranoth's "evil" character says:
"Thief! That's terrible! *shakes his head* That would hurt people's feeling if I did that."

Sho's got the idea.
It's not a matter of wanting to check the bars, but a matter of, if the stats the bars are for are implemented into the game, we'll all NEED to check the bars, otherwise our charries will keel over.
Cut back, and abandon the grand and complicated plan to make cantr more realistic. Keep a good balance between game and reality, accept the compromise.

No no, this isn't a personal bashing directed at anyone Solfius. I've seen your comments and suggestions and liked them. You're fine.
~In General~ there are two parties of thought. The gamers, who like instant gratification, want to level up and wonder where the guns are, and the realists, that like the 3 councilor town system, wear clothes, and love thier brooms.
I just put this out as a suggestion, because even if the majority of people aren't on my side, I'd like them to be.
I just want to have some fun here, is that too much to ask?

But I want beer and wine, and we can't have those without drunkeness.
And what if dirtyness only affected roleplay? Then it wouldn't be a mechanical nuisance, the technical players could go about their nude and mute existence with s*** all over them. The rest of the players could then use it as a cue that your character smell funny.

I disagree. The only new stat bar that would be introduced that could cause sudden death due to lack of monitoring is thirstyness. And unless you're wandering through a desert, that shouldn't be a problem. As for dirtyness, you can't die from being dirty. As for drunkeness, you should only die if it reaches 100%, in which case you were making your charry drink excessively. There would be almost no more need to check the bars than there is now. Also, if you don't want to monitor 90 stat bars, then lose a few charrys. It's not that hard. Cantr is fun, and I think with the implementation (I'm almost sure I just butchered that word...) of the other stat bars, it could become more fun, in it's own ways.
All of my endings are waiting to begin.
