Probably asked before, I'm just awefully tired.
Does dragging a lot increase your dragging skill or are you preset with a dragging skill at spawn?
Cause one of my characters that needs to be an excellent dragger, is not...
Oh, also, does the dragging algorithm take into concept how much you are holding?
And one final thing, does it increment?
Thanks.

Dragging is affected by the physical strength skill, which also affects fighting, hunting and resistance to being dragged. I don't believe dragging adds physical strength experience - fighting and hunting will. Held weight doesn't affect resistance to being dragged. Dragging "progress" does not increment.

Very informative, thankyou very much Sho.
To clarify simply one final thing: If I train my fighting skill up to 'expert', does
a) my dragging skill increase
b) my hunting skill increase?

Fighting, hunting and physical strength are separate skills. You will in the process of training your fighting skill also train your physical strength, which in turn will help you hunt, but that doesn't mean fighting skill actually directly affects either of those skill values - if, for example, ProgD were to magically give your character expert fighting skill, your character would see absolutely no change in dragging or hunting.
Someday someone will find a way to explain these skills - it's possibly the most commonly misunderstood part of the Cantr game mechanics right now.

Based on what Sho said, there are two variables for fighting and hunting: strength and the skill.
So when you hunt or fight, the result is based on a function involving both the skill and strength.
Strength is also used for dragging.
When you fight, your fighting skill and strength improves, but not your hunting skill.
When you hunt, your hunting skills and strength improves, but not your hunting skills.
When you drag, nothing improves.
The point is, you can improve your strength, but your strength isn't equal to your skills in hunting or fighting.
Is that clearer?
