Both.

Child leashes came after my time and I did not us them on my children.

For the game you wouldn't want to have to chase your child down a trail all the time or have them dragged into a car and stolen.

I'm not saying that it will be part of the game. It was just antoher strange thought.

Maybe children shouldn't be allowed to move at all, even to leave and enter buildings until a certain age, then not be allowed to go down paths by themselves until a later age.

I think they should be able to move, just slower than adults. It would also be helpful to be able to drag people on paths so that you could retreive your child who wandered off.

I like the idea of carrying babies/children. They could be sort of like objects, in their parent's inventory (would that work, and still allow them to interact with their environment?) That way they could only go where their parents went.

>>takes a note<<

If babies become objects then "take" should be replaced by "pick up" for this object, "drop" should be replaced by "set down" to avoid:

You see a woman in her twenties drop a baby.

I can just see the badly role-played newspawn suicides now. Hitting or stealing babies to get killed would throw a whole town into an uproar. We'll have alot of pale kids who can't keep their eyes opened outside from spending so much time nested inside.

The thought of dropping babies sickens me...so yes, that would most definitely have to be changed.

If babies become objects, they should be visible, rather like clothes are right now. If no one can tell whether someone is carrying a baby, kidnappings would be too easy. Also, in terms of realism, babies are not very easy to conceal.

Ummm, isn't that what ducttape is for?
What we also need is brandy and milk ingame.

You people are terrible! These poor babies, and you want to put duct tape on them!

NOTE: It doesn't work--their drool gets it all slippery and it falls off.

Oops...did I just say that out loud?
