I think they need to do another worm/virus hunt on the server

It's fine right now.

I experienced some really bad lag this evening in the runup to feeding time and new minutes. I thought there used to be agreement that those should be placed some time after Californians have gone to bed? What would that be, 10 am GMT or a bit later? Anyhow, surely it does have an impact if the daily chageover occurs right in the middle of European peak time?

I doubt the lag is coming from the normal server process, since it preceeds reset/feeding by an hour and then lags on for about 2-3 hours after that. My completely uneducated guess is that it is some kind of spyware that does its uploading during that time.

Well it interefered significantly with my experience of cantr... to the extent that simple administrative tasks (moving stuff, sorting notes) became very time consuming and frustrating.

Could it be time for another server upgrade?

Just a wild stab, but Cant has become more popular.

right now, seems like the only way I can play is to do 1 or 2 tasks, then log out and in again, do a few more tasks, log out and in again....

this is killing me....

It'll just sit there loading forever and not do anything. It's impossible to get anything done. I'm just glad none of my chars have anything important going on right now, but it's still driving me crazy!

Is the lag making people decide not to play, or what? The last couple of days have been slow in both senses of the word. And of course this period of boringness would have to happen right when I had time to play...I'm going to be busy for the next week and of course that's when things will start getting interesting again.

It was certainly a contributing factor... When you have limited time in short bites it makes it impossible and then when you set aside an hour to play its incredibly frustrating... One of my charracters was trying to pick up items and notes after a death and just had to give up...

OK I'm sure I read an announcement saying the game would be down for some time at 1300 GMT and then everything would be hunky dory....

Honestly, I think it's worse than it was before. It's been slow for me all day as opposed to just a few hours a day. :(
