Bilingual Cantrians

Postby goitre » Mon May 29, 2006 12:03 am

For example: two characters, one Russian and one English, could spawn a bilingual Cantrian.

So a player, who is bilingual themselves, having both a Russian character and an English character, could get the option of spawning a bilingual Russian/English speaking character, if an appropriate spawning point exists.

And similarly for other pairs of languages.

Just an idea for now. Your thoughts?

Just one thought: Both players should have 1 characters slot dedicated to that character. How password could be managed between the two players?

Taking this out, it's a nice idea!

Hmmm perhaps I could have explained it a bit clearer. Let me rephrase.

When a newspawn is spawned, it has two parents, right? What happens if a newspawn has one parent that speaks one language, and another parent that speaks a different language?

My suggestion is that a bilingual player, could control a newspawn that is spawned from these two parents in this manner, and that the newspawn can speak both languages.

On a similar note: If someone spawns in an area that has two different languages spoken, and the player can speak both, I think it should be allowable for the character to be able to know both, regardless of what language they originally spawned the character in.

Well... I think it's a way to promote on-line translations... which are certainly bad.
