What if when you click on a chars description button, you see:
"He seems strong and in his 20's. He is wearing a cotton shirt (when clothes are ready), carrying a shovel, a wooden shield, some cod, some magnesium, blah blah blah, and is working on project 'burying a man in his 30's'". You would be able to "see" anything that is not in a container or something else that blocks your view. You also wouldn't see the exact amount of resources they're carrying, since you can't tell weight perfectly by just looking at it, like when you see a woman in her 40's drop "some" stone.

If sheilds and large weapons were visible it might help interactions. As it stands you never know if someone who just walk in off the trail is harmless or has enough weapons to make himself king.
It might help identify people in a location that are in chrage both to the poeple who walk in and to the ones just spawned. You have to assume that the half dozen people with crossbows must be at least the guard if not running the place.
Now I also belive in being able to hide sheilds and weapons too. But a hidden sheild should offer no protection.

I would be good if the type of clothing we eventually wear would affect how visible our inventories are. Like, a cloak could hide everything except the tool you're using on a project, since it's "in your hand", and pants could hide any raw resources you have, since they'd be "in your pocket". Shirts probably couldn't hide anything, but jackets could, and a knife or other small things might even be "hidden" if you wear shoes or boots, as though you were storing them there. We wouldn't need to actually put the item in or under the clothing, the game could just compare what you have and what kind of clothing you have, and "hide" anything that fits the criteria of what clothes "cover".
The programming dept might not like that though, if it's complicated to do.

I don't know if it has already been thought of or not, but bags and sachels should also be implemented. For the same reason as the last person who posted mentioned..
As well as ...Im wondering how anyone figures our chars can just carry around so much stuff? If it were me I'd be dropping taters all over the place. lol

I defenately want to C if someone is bearing arms. Just a hint would suffice, like "whacky carry's a shield and you note athe outlining of a weapom under his "cloak" ( or whatever).

This makes sense. In rl you can see large weapons and shields, and yes, then you would know they were probably the guard. If you walk into a town and everyone is carrying weapons and shields, well, you know what kinda town that is, compared to one where very few people are seen with them.
I also like the bag/sachel idea Missy mentioned. I keep wanting to refer to "looking in my bag for my hammer", but then I realize, I don't have one. So I say "pockets", which isn't really true either, as none of us are actually wearing clothes of any kind either. We are all just naked. So how do we carry all them taters?

Actually, as long as they aren't implemented, there's nothing saying you aren't born fully clothed with an ultra concealing cloak and a pack for holding stuff...That'd explain the invisible weapons and massive carrying problems anyway..

I would like to be able to choose where my items go, you know, like put a saber in a bag and pass it off to another guy. Also it would be useful to have a search command, like to search the persons bag or jacket to see whats in it, but you would either have to have their permission or someone to hold them down.
