I've got a char that does that a lot...but then agains she's meant to be annoying and rude. :D

Kind of been toning it down lately, though. Stupid responsibility..

Eh? You mean in game?

Yes I mean in game. Only one person here understood what I meant? Someone sent me a pm asking me what I meant..

I thought it was rather obvious.

:?:

You mean that they were emoting a smirk, or emoting in general?
Either way, what's the problem?

Yes, that's what I thought you meant... but it didn't make sense how that would be a problem. Maybe if it's used incorrectly often, but I don't see how it can be OOCly rude.

I dislike it when people use the forum to state thier vauge dislikes.

:P

Be glad you get the RP you have. If you make a big deal out of something as small as *smirking* you'll crush all the RP. I'd rather see more RP, even mediocre, than none at all.

*Considers picking up a carrot harvester and yelling "WONG SMASH!!!" before dropping the harvester on anyone that he dislikes*
Reality was never my strong point.

Bran, hope you don't mind me rewording what you said.
This is what I think he means, guys:

'People are using *smirk* in-game and really are not understanding the meaning. They are using it to look nice, and kind, almost an alternative of smiling. However, *smirk* looks like you're being a smart-alec and rude, and personally I don't like you using it in the wrong context'.

Which means, apparently, people are INTENDING to use *smirk* as a positive gesture but it's suggesting that the character is in fact being a smart-ass.

I don't see anything wrong with *smirk* but Bran-Muffin, I think, is fed up with players/characters using *smirk* wrongly.

Either that or it was a late night. :D 8)

Which reminds me (now that I saw those glasses) I saw $200 dollar glasses in the shops today, sunnies, and I was like, omg i would die for them... and I tried them on and I'm like, omg i would die for them...

So if you know about the sunnies I'm talking about, BUY THEM!!!!!!!
Nakranoth's "evil" character says:
"Thief! That's terrible! *shakes his head* That would hurt people's feeling if I did that."

Perhaps we should encourage the use additional description while emoting? For example, instead of *smirks*, perhaps one of the following would be better:

*smiles happily*
*smiles warmly*
*smiles gleefully*
*smiles festively*
*smiles falsely*
*smiles slyly*
*smiles uncomfortably*
*smiles rigidly*
*grins mischievously*
*grins cheekily*
*grins awkwardly*
and of course, my favourite, the famous *grins toothily* of Laird Loki.
