Rollover Minutes = )
What if we made a way to keep track of unused minutes each day, and when a player runs out of minutes one day, the "0 time left" becomes a link to ask to use saved up minutes. If bandwidth is within a "happy usage" range, they get 5 extra minutes. If those run out, they can click the "0 minutes left" link again, and be accepted or denied based on both how much time they've got saved up, and how our bandwidth is doing. Perhaps every 10 regular minutes saved could equal 1 extra minute saved up, or something like that.
The reason I mention this is because a player inevitably has at least one char who becomes very influential at one time or another, and in real life running a town and things like that would require alot of time and effort. It's a player's own fault if they have too many very influential people of course, but it can cause other chars to suffer if their leaders sleep more than town needs should allow. What do ya think?

Most recently I've become more active with a char...And, I must say my time has been getting lower and lower each day since.
(As I said before I'm over the whole time liimit thing now)
But it does kinda suck to run out of minutes still. Even while I've been doing a lot of the reading- writing while logged out in word pad.

well...
1st I shouldn't delete chars cuz that ruins the game...
but then i should because I don't have enough time for them all?
It's not a life or death situation that I have more minutes. I just think it would be nice to have some more, or be able to have some more should we run out. I know that I'm not the only person on these boards who has run out of minutes while right in the middle of a great discussion, or a MUCH needed one.
If I had a life beyond taking care of my daughter and husband which of course is full time except when they are sleeping/napping- working -preoccupied. I AM positive I also would not run out of minutes like some of you. But I do run out of minutes. Free time gets spent on the computer, and most of it gets spent playing a game called cantr that I sometimes get bored with, but more often than not am most interested in. Out of 15 chars 2 of them are somewhat important. But only 1 of them is a blabber mouth. Ooooo Lucky for some-unlucky for others in blojt. YAY for me and Catherine Aspen.
!
Since the time limit has been imposed it has cut down on the amount of time people spend playing cantr, as well as bandwidth hence the cut down on time they spend. There for I know there are minutes/bandwidth floating around that could be used for someone who needs it WHEN they need it. If that is so, then the only thing I would see as a problem is it would require someone to do more - someone on the staff to hand out more minutes when a player requests them.
It isn't as if I run out of minutes every single day. I've done so 2 times this week. So therefor it isn't as if even those who wish they could get more time when they needed it, would ALWAYS need more time.
But like I said..It aint the biggest thing on my mind as far as the game goes. There are far worse things than running o ut of minutes i spose.

Well, it is only very rarely that I run out of minutes-but when my internet is slow, that's when it happens. I don't know about you, but I never wait around for a page to load. Not unless I absolutely need to. Case-in-point, I have an important player in Siom.
Go into a building, don't let events load, click "objects" instead, get what I need (don't let that load either unless it is quantities of stuff) and click location, exit, and don't let the events load, inventory, apply stuff, then activity list, click on a project, don't let it load, click on objects, etc.
I can look at events later or other things later. You don't need to let every page load. I've found since doing these sorts of things that I have cut my time usage way back.
Since the time increased, I don't htink I've run out of minutes but the times I do are also when naming the whole town (I've done that before, lol. Point, name, point name. There you have to let things load, unfortunately) and when there is a long conversation going on but for the most part, I rarely do even though I have several very active characters.

At one time I was able to play 20 chars in about the time it takes me to do two now, but the amount of time a char takes is related to how well known his name is. When you get to the point were you have to talk to a bunch of people everyday then the time gets used pretty quickly.

I have found the more I play (5 or so years Cantr time), the better my roleplaying skills become and the more important some of my characters become, thus the more time it takes up, thus the quicker I run out of time. As a beginner, i never ever used up my time, but now - I"M ALWAYS OUT!!!!!
Suggestion: what if a player's time limit increases in small increments every Cantr year they are active. That way, as your characters become more important, rp skills increase, you will gradually get more time for these things.
This is my biggest issue right now. Thanks for listening.

Hate to bring up old topics, but the lag on my school network means that saying one thing takes up to 20 of my minutes, what with all the 'cannot find server' pages and such. There has to be a better way, like pages viewed or something..or maybe just give me more minutes?

It doesn't take the time to write it down, but the constant reloading of the same page after it times out repeatedly is what eats up my minutes. I enter the text in the box, click or hit enter, it times out, I go back, try again, it times out, so on...until finally my char can speak. Same thing whenever I try to view my inventory or anything else.
I SHOULD BE DOING MY HOMEWORK BUT INSTEAD I SHALL PLAGUE THE FORUM WITH MY PRESENCE UNTIL I GET MORE MINUTES AT 3 AM!^__________^
