Let me say, I see potential in that town and at the same time I am frustrated, I also relate to the stress of playing characters in positions where you log in for the first time in a day and there's about 15 questions or requests people have come to you with, you get to about the second one and as you're responding, one of the people who asked you something while you were away from the computer is wondering why you haven't gotten to him yet, so then you need to stop and answer him telling him "I'll get to you in a minute, I haven't forgotten about you." and you begin to wonder if you're ever going to get to everyone! I completely understand what it's like to be in a town that's like that. lol Doryiksom seems like one of those to me.

They wouldn't be able to kill the doryis I bet, though.

I have no idea what you mean by that. Who wouldn't be able to kill the Doryis? And what does that have to do with anything?

No, Wong is not the hugging sort. Hugging could get him killed.

What I was missing was any reaction at all. The only thing I got was "Interesting story" and one wise ass "Look at the notethief go! Following in your footsteps Wong?"

You think that people in the town there who have been living under the the rule of a pair of councilors and they suddenly learn he was a note thief, one of the most despised things in cantr, would have had SOMETHING to say about it, but no. Apparently, Dory is just a place for them to get thier food and keep thier stuff. That's it. We don't have big hoops to go through, not buerocratic, pretty easy going. Peaceful town, and it's gotten surprisingly big.

And the people, they are complacent. I thought better of them

He's retiring............And he obviously made it sound as though he had changed.

So they should be angry, because he was human and made mistakes but was also able to turn his life around? Why would they be angry when he's already said he's not running again. Can't change the past. lol No offense, but not everyone just spawns and automaticly hates note thieves. Most common hated types of people? My characters spawn seeing people as people. People=capable of good and bad both. Complacent? Not a chance.

The truth of it here is this......It has nothing to do with dolls tea party. What do you want from your leader? Most people want a leader who they can relate to. If the majority of your town is people who act like real people, patting each other on the back or giving a hug? Well....chances are that they're not going to relate to Wong so well.

Just because your swimming fools and sighing seaside beauties don't talk politics, doesn't mean they don't have agendas/preferences/interests in them. They're more apt to discuss them privately. I've come to find that the people who sit by the lake/sigh whatever, become life-long workers.

Your speech wasn't as inspirational as it could have been if you were speaking to the proper crowd---IE a criminal you were trying to reform. It applies to younger people in some small sense.

I think, re-reading what was said, I feel more like he's self absorbed. "Quitting Councilor position so I can do things for me..." "I did this." "I' "I" and you can do it too. Where's the..."You're bright young people and our future, and I hope you'll all consider_____blahblahblabhlabh" Motivational speaking or whatever.
I hate people.

Does this mean people are no longer allowed to spawn in the English server and speak another language?

I have no idea what you mean by that. Who wouldn't be able to kill the Doryis? And what does that have to do with anything?

If you are a citizen in Dorysikom, then you would probably know what a doryi is. They are the guards, usually well equipped and active.

The English server (lands) means... speaking English. I don't think they ever allowed people to speak other languages on the English server (lands).

Just because they're well-equipped and active doesn't mean they're indestructible. They are mortal.

Again: "Who wouldn't be able to kill them?" What does that have to do with anything?

Other active places? *Shrugs.*.......And?

Edit: I'm sure you're very proud of the Doryis. Nothing wrong with that I guess.

Anyone can kill anyone, all they need is 10k of wood.

The Doryis are the name the gaurds were strong armed into adopting by Seth, before we gave him a boat to go on a mission to get salt so he could make leather and play dress up, but both Wong Wei and Little John just wanted him away so he'd quit trying to take over the town. From the first day he was made a guard, he wanted to have power over the councilors decisions, vetoing them if his whim felt it wasn't in the interest of Dory. He was fired and is dead now, BUT, Loki, another character by the same player, is there now AGAIN, after Loki was run out of town for being an ass in general.

The polish speaker that spawn in Dory is just icing on the OOC cake that is Doryiskom.

I'm done ranting now. I got what I wanted out of this thread, thank you all for your comments. Feel free to continue.

Dude. Disgruntled a little?

As for the polish guy, whatever, that wasn't so bad IMO. I slept through most of it. I never knew it was a CRB to spawn speaking another language in English lands, but if it is, whatever. *shrugs*

What bothered me more were the completely extraneous and stupid OOC comments made by OTHER chars. I don't really care if someone is logging off so they can watch the rest of Eurovision, for example, and it's annoying to be told someone is searching Google for a translator, and many of the other OOC comments made were just clumsy.

But isn't there a four-day rule or something?

Phalynx, clipart is not meaningful discussion. If you really want to make a post that just says "LOL," do it in a way that doesn't waste people's oh-so-precious bandwidth and attention.

Sho, repeatedly criticising the input of others for the sake of it does not contribute to the discussion either... so try some...

Good point Phal but that one is giving people a seizure. Try the one with a coffee mug and text "Have a nice warm cup of STFU".

*coughs* It is a little annoying. But then again just saying 'LOL' or posting an emoticon would have been too...

Anyway, I think this thread is officially derailed now.
