Hey Joshuamonkey, I know the character you are referring to, the multilingual one. That's only one language he speaking, not a combination of multiple languages.

Though...there's this one character I've met, on an almost deserted town that I rule, and its in the English Server, I don't know what language he speaks. Did he join the English Server even though he speaks a different language? I translated it, and got bits and peices by combining many different language translations.

There's only one server. Cantr is like our world in that respect - characters of the different language groups all exist in the same world - They tend to be geographically seperate but not on different servers/worlds .

I had a character spawn on the island Rus, which I guess is a russian island as all the buildings and markers are encoded in jibberish. However, I haven't heard any russian spoken in over a year now, and I have renamed the jibberish things into their english translations.

Maybe I haven't heard much russian because there aren't many inhabitants oO and all those who I have met speak english in addition to russian, if they speak russian at all.

Yeah, I know about the one server thing, but what server you join doesn't that effect where you spawn? That's what I was talking about... he just spawned there and started talking gibberish.

Must be the wrong one. He spoke a bit of spanish, the one language I can understand a bit without a translator (other than English)
And he also spoke bits of English.

mmm, I met only 2 or 3 english speaking characters....

A few visits from the french and quite a lot of germans.

And lately the spanish are coming!

That's really weird, because i cant understand a word of it. At least i can read english german and a bit french but spanish.. nah.

and funny you english seem to think you have to teach other languages things words like sabre... Just wait till you try that in a organised village where everybody's armed with steel weapons and iron shields and with stores of healing food :o). They might not like all foreigners...

Spanish is the only language I can understand well with the help of a translator.

I made 1 Spanish character, and 14 English.

unless we actually type the sound of the names out in English or whatever language.... :P

now I can't wait until first contact has been made....

here's a question i have and i am not sure if it has been asked before if it has i haven't seen it. or combed te forums lol but the question is
if you have a char from one language and they end up wantering or some how ending up in another language land, what do they see when they look at resources? do they see with thier eyes resource names in the language they are spawned from or do they see the resources named in a language they have yet to learn?

I would think that if everything has been translated, the character should see resources in his or her own language.....?

can someone who has experiences at meeting different language groups enlighten us :o

They see the resources in their own langauge

The language choice determines the language used in the interface not the physical location of the character

Not quite true.

I have a character who has ventured into other language lands (or lands originally intended for other languages) and has found "Curly Kale" But when he harvested it, the project was "Harvesting Boehrenkohl" or something similar.
