Another Brick in the Wall
Isn't a good idea for Cantr II?

Resources Dept. should find out how that "big wall" could be build in the middle of two sites, so everyone who wants to travel to the isolated place, simply can't reach it.
If it happens in the World, why not in Cantr?

I don't really see a point for it in Cantr?
The only point for one would be if it were developed in the game between two places for whatever reasons for those places. No point if it's developed out of the game by the staff and stuck in there for no reason at all. There never have been walls between countries, unless they decided to build them for their own reasons.
And is it a suggestion or just trying to spark discussion of some sort...?

A similar "situation" to the one suggested is to construct a Hall in some location, and encourage everyone "in town" to work inside teh Hall or any number of adjoining rooms.
This way, outsiders would not be able to "enter town" without going through the walls/lock on the main Hall.
The only drawback I see here is that the resources in the area would only be available to those "outside", and thus not quite what the original posting implied.

Would be quite similar to actual medieval castles, though, woudn't it? The farmers hardly had enough space in the castle to farm, did they?

The Chinese wall hardly even slowed Genghis Khan down, Hadrian's wall had little effect, the East German wall is now chunks of tourist souvenirs, Israel's wall reminds me of South Africa's apartheid wall and will have the same effect and the same long-term result. Nope, not a fan of walls. Not for Cantr either.

Neither do I. I am certainly not a fan of walls, particularly when they're built up to separate rooms instead of holding roofs.
But why should "bad" possibilities be eliminated from Cantr societies simulation? If realistic simulation is wanted, then creators might give players all the options, the worst and the best, in an ethics point of view, for them to have all the elements to choose what they want to do.
If the only way to be is being "good", that "good" does not worth a thing in itself.

I'm not suggesting, I'm discussing. I would be posting in another forum if I was doing that. I do not know about that broken vehicle system, but I don't find out how it can be related with a wall. I was not talking about communications, but about repression.

I'm exactly doing that with one of my characters. And I have seen others had done it too. But that's not the point. With a wall, you don't give the possibility to others of entering the location, so you're protecting your location and its resources.

Yes, you're right, but we Cantrian countries do not have the possibility of building up that large walls, even if we have our own reasons.
I'm just only posting, trying to find some opinions. If you think it should be a "formal" suggestion -I don't think so, but..- just let me know and I will ask for the move.
fishfin wrote:And there would be a gate in the wall and if it has a lock in it it would have to be unlocked for you to go in?
A gate will be included, with a combination of five different locks. So five different people, wiht five different keys, can only open that gate.
