So how did it turn out Jos?

This is somewhat for Jos but I would like to here anybodys thoughts on what they think.

IF I remember I beleive Jos used to have something on cantr home page that stated he started this as a experiment for college. I was just wandering what the outcome was and what exactly he was looking to find out with this game.

What do the rest of you think about the outcome of this game as a experiment on society and how it developed.

My quick and simple explantion is that without major population growth you cannot have a real or even basic society. It is more or less a large family.

I asked Jos for an article detailing the successes and failure of Cantr (in correspondence to the two year old "Cantr Road Map"). Although initially inclined to do so, he later excused himself because of the abundant work he had. It is a question which I think echoes in the back of the mind of any truly interested Cantrian. I hope one day Jos will be able to answer this formally for the Webzine. I have made my own assertions on certain successes and certain failures, here and there, and it is a question I commonly come back to when writing or doing something for or in Cantr.

I'm not going to write a whole webzine article in a forum post right now, but to answer quickly: Cantr was never set up as an experiment. Cantr is simply a game I wanted to play and couldn't find, and it is based on the Lego game I used to play. That said, part of the fun of running Cantr, for me, is indeed to see it as some kind of experiment. That is, I do really enjoy spending a lot of time discussing with friends (mainly Sico and Jur) what exactly is happening in the game and why this happens, etc. So yes, I do analyse it sometime, in terms of arm-chair-science, but it was never set up as an experiment, and it was certainly not related to my studies.
