Ok just the usual, "I've been playing for a while can someone tell me" thread
Firstly does clothing have any function, other than covering your modesty. If it doesn't, then maybe in should, it would help give a better reason to producing clothing. Clothing could reduced food consumption or ageing. It could also give protection from animals and would be bandits. This could lead it turn to the manufactor of amour type garments from padded jackets and steel Helms and beyond.
Secondly can coins be melted down to their base elements ? If they could then coins would have value in the most primitive settlement as well as the most cosmopolitan town. If once pressed that was it for the metal you are restricting the use of coins in general. The progression from Barter to money is a large leap, if the coin itself was the value not just a promise, which is what money is just a promise of return, then coins would be a much more attractive option.
A couple of questions ???

Not currently, at some point I would hope to see a function for clothing, but I have no idea if will be implemented

Nothing is able to be broken down into it's composite parts and resources. That is again something I would like to see. I hadn't considered it with regard to coins before, and I like the idea.

The two questions are linked, if coins could be used in the same way as the raw material, coins would be a simple way of standardising the payments for tasks around town as well as use in a barter type situation. Once you know how much you get for a days digging you can starting working out the value of a complex item, like clothes or machinery.
If the cloths then had a function you would get a trade off between worth and functionality. From then on the limits would be endless. The beauty would be that in different areas different coins would have different values until the quest for profit alone drove the need for a standard guide to wealth. Maybe not gold or diamonds like in our world but maybe something quite abstract like silk or yet to be discovered ???
