Just because I may disagree with natural determinism, does not mean I believe in some kinda hocus pocus eternal soul.

We are naught but a brain and various orgfans in a shell. It's just that our brain is so complex, not beyond human understanding, but beyond prediction based upon what we know of neurology, that to understand things such as gender differences, we are better off holding a mirror to society in all its complexity, than trying to explain it by studying neurology or other biology.

Many things can be explained by biology, but we are so individual - my hormonal and neurological balance is probably almost unique, as is everyone elses, that making generalisations based upon biology is not only inaccurate, but potentially damaging.

Many other things, including gender, may have little or no connection with biology - it is to do with how our bodies and brains have been (re)formed by the society in which we live.
Whoever you vote for.

I didn't mean that comment to infer anything about your beliefs; it was just a general observation on the subject from my point of view.

My apologies for the poorly designed poll- I did in fact add a result of 'All my characters are of the opposite sex' and '11-14'... seems they didn't pop up. I think we've got a pretty good idea of how many there are, though. I can tell you straight out I was expecting 1-3 to be the most, and few if no votes for any more characters. I'm quite shocked by the results, and the amount of replies in the short amount of time.

Now I'll tell you my point of view and what I voted.

I would have voted 1-3 before, but I've voted 1. I used to have a few women characters. Want to know why? They're manipulative. Particularly for men. For RP reasons, they're great to play. If you want to be a 'pretty', 'beautiful' leader of a town, you just sweet-talk all the men and elders and cry softly if they do anything against you. Sure, it's evil, but it happens.

Mary Williams is the opposite of this, but hey that still works!

And I think Cantrians live weakly by the rule of not hitting or injuring women either.

Tell me, have you seen many women thieves? No...
...I don't know what that proves!!! But hey. :P

Besides that, women characters can be a strong influence in a town, as not many Cantrian RP'ers want to be sexist IG, unless that itself is RP'ed. And I know I even have this strange habit of when playing male characters, being strangely and perhaps a litle excessively curtious and polite moreso to women than men....

One of my characters has killed at least one woman thief and is chasing another.

I've seen plenty of suicidal newspawn females. I didn't keep statistics or anything, but they didn't seem particularly uncommon relative to males.

 the only 2 pirates i ever had were females , but my once common thief turned fascist leader was male. i myself rather admire strong women not overly "butch" as some would put but strong enough to take care of themself physically and a strong will, but still with some "femenin" qualities, i used to play about half female chars now i'm down around a third, i did though have some that were very "soft". i can't go into too much detail though without giving some away.
my male chars, also are mostly geared towards being strong some have softer personalities than others, some would say some of them have some "feminine" qualities while some are pure brutish harsh loveless men who love to kill whenever they can socially get away with it and like to show off when they can, but really i cannot get into too much detail without giving away some of my chars
as for all my chars they would be among the well armed population before they reach thier 30's simply because in cantr there is a lot of turmoil in a lot of areas and just for personal safety they feel they need to have a lot of personal equipment, purely ic social effect. getting into a defensive position to be safe from bandits, wars, boars and the sort.
all in all they are quite mixed but i cannot go into too much more detail while they live lol
and simply put my chars don't discriminate male/female when it come to a fight, if they have a reason to go after someone they do it
